Family Feud - Simpsons vs Family Guy

Looks like I'm a triple dinger this weekend. First I had the comics and then the potter/twilight thread in the last few weeks.


Then this weekend, I brought you Star Wars vs Star Trek, and one about the Enter Sandman Metallica song that can be found in the music area.


But now I'm bringing you this one. Two shows on Fox, one a long time veteran, close to 20 seasons and still going, and the other - one that that was taken away by the network, but got reawakened and reborn on Cartoon Network, then brought back to Fox and keeps gettin stronger.

So its Homer vs Peter. Marge vs Lois. Bart vs Stewie. Place your votes and let the better show win.

The shows are incomparable.

First, you have separate eras of the Simpsons. The styles of humor are completely different. One has been in popular culture and has a wider fanbase because of it.

The only reason you feel the need to compare the two is because they are animated and on Fox. That doesn't mean they are parallel to one another.

Family Guy is so dumb and can be really crude. The flashbacks and other scenes are overplayed and happen way too frequently.

Simpsons knows how to push the envelope without turning to crudeness. They're just plain funny and not dumb in a lame way.

I like The Simpsons, and always thought it was very witty, but when Family Guy came along (despite its angrier, darker elements, which pop up every so often), I had to admit that it was funnier overall.

But I agree, they are very different styles of humor, too.

I agree. I've been watching the Simpsons since it first started, and still find it very funny.

I am amazed that the Simpsons can still be funny after all these years, but it is still hilarious. But I have to admit that I love Family Guy. My guilty pleasure.

Both Family Guy and The Simpsons have there moments. Lately The Simpsons have been lacking the funny while Family Guy is funny all the jokes are random that don't go with some episodes.

I will agree with you that both have there moments and I will also agree with you that The Simpsons has been lacking while Family Guy has remained funny, but I still voted both because The Simpsons were funny before Family Guy was around and to this day is still sometimes funny. But Family Guy will always remain Animation Dominations most funniest show on Sunday

I voted for both. I think they are both funny in their own ways, and they both can be pointless and stupid at times.

One must remember that without "The Simpsons" animation on either network or basic cable would probably not have happened, or at least taken a lot longer to catch on. The ratings and commercial success of "The Simpsons" broke down barriers that hadn't been broken since "The Flintstones". I am not saying that it makes "The Simpsons" a better or worse show, just that it deserves the respect it gets.
