By the way, the funeral home in his old home town looked familiar to me. Do you think that was filmed on a back lot or is it a real place somewhere.
This is a very good show. The chemistry between Ned and Chuck is nothing short of great. The fact that they are attracted to each other but cannot touch -- I felt the angst as much as they did.

And I quoted you because not the funeral home, but Chuck's house looked familiar to me too. If I am not mistaken, that looks like the house used in Honey I Shrunk The Kids. Although I could be wrong...

One thing that intially in all the ads turned me totally off was the look of Chuck. She loooked too kewpi doll in the ads. Did anyone else feel that way? I ended up liking the show, but nervous about liking it.

I also watched the show. It semed a little quirky, but watchable.

I believe this show, because of the premise, will really require more creativity than some other shows to keep it afloat.

I will watch it again. It adds to what was a pretty dead (no pun intended) Thursday evening TV schedule.

Re: Pushing Daisies

I just watched it again on the their website. I thought it was very cute and quirky, I'm insterested to see the direction they will take this in.

Although there are just to many opportunities for him to touch her accidently, like when they smashed the monkeys, that I have to wonder if they will play up on that.

I feel like I'm in Bizarro TV Land because Pushing Daisies did extremely well in the ratings! I'm so happy for Bryan Fuller right now.

Re: Pushing Daisies

I loved it. It's a breath of fresh air from the majority shows that are out there now. The shows about rich catty families, tools with money, the forensic series, and night-time soap operas.

And might I say, "Go Hiro!"

Re: Pushing Daisies

the show had a Twin Peaks feel to it - quirky, strange

I didn't watch it all the way through - it'll be on again on Saturday

Re: Pushing Daisies

I was really worried with the way this season has been going for me that this show was not going to be as amazing as I wanted it to be.

Thankfully I was mistaken!
The only new show of the season that's met/exceeded my expectations.
It's so sweet/bittersweet and fun and morbid and weird.
And I'm so in love with it. I finished watching and I was just grinning for like the next hour!

It's very Burton-esque in its feel (i see a lot of Beetlejuice & Big Fish).
Very surreal and mythical and quirky and fanciful (my fave kinda stuff)
Theoretically this show shouldn't work... it's too weird (and I like it... and I doom shows!!!) but I'm so happy it's doing well

Oh and it made me really want some pie! (thank god it's pie-month at Marie Callanders )

Actually the actress who plays Chuck reminds me of a young Leslie Ann Warren.

Leslie Ann Warren on the left and Anna Friel (Chuck) on the right

Good to know, I'd like to make my husband watch it. He'll probably hate it, it's just not his type of show, but I'll give it a whirl!

I liked the show. I never watched the other shows and movies you have talked about (Lemminy Snickets, etc.) I hope it does well with viewers.
