Wow.
Now I'm really looking foward to go to Universal Studios Hollywood in 2011.
I can't help but be a bit worried about another over-hyped press release of a large, new attraction at Universal Studios. Anyone remember how they hyped up the Mummy roller coaster? Then it got cut so much and was nothing like the press release made it out to be. Now with those pics showing the possible space they have to work with here in Hollywood for Transformers, hopefully it won't be a shadow of the press release. Otherwise, it does sounds like it has potential to be a great ride!
I'm a Transformers collector who didn't like the movie at all. However, as long as they don't use cardboard cutouts like on Mummy, I'll be looking forward to this. Who knows, I might keep on renewing my USH AP until then.
I think the only way to do something like Transformers is to NOT do cardboard cutouts. They're using HD 3D for realism, so imagine that there will be a few animatronics in between as well. Maybe stationary ones with few moving parts that you drive under or around. I even picture a massive Optimus Prime head at the end or something.

Haha YES!!!!!!! I am sooo excited about this.

It never really made sense to me why Spielberg left Universal, when he was even still the Creative Director too for Universal Studios theme parks, and gets 10% of our admission ticket. He's always called Universal his home but I'm happy is back with Universal.
On the subject of the size for Transformers: The Ride, word is the surrounding stages may be taken down as well, so it may be bigger in size compared to Spider-Man in Orlando.
I'm not sure about that. Those sound-stages are some of the most used. Last time I was on the VIP tour they had a large portion of a pirate ship in there for major scenes for the Pirates movies. I think they are too important to remove.
This ride better have 1 Animatronic Transformer, or I will be mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The building on the right. Which I believe are 4 small soundstages under one roof. They have been used for game shows and some TV shows. The replacements may be included with that mega complex thats under construction where the new Tonight Show will start filming on the Uni lot, but without Leno =(
For the time that they take those 2 attractions out and there left with pretty much 2 rides down there in the lower lot, Universal is just gonna have 2 find a way 2 entertain people so that there's a some kind of reason coming down all those escalators.
I WANT DL 2 BE MY PERMANENT HOME!
1 DAY...EVEN IF I BECOME A TEACHER...I WOULD LIKE TO WORK AT DL & HOPEFULLY BE ONE OF THE CHARACTERS TO PERFORM DURING FANTASMIC!
