You can tell just by looking at them.

    Good

    Bad

BUT HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO TELL WHICH ONE IS WHICH DURING A FIGHT SCENE?! THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN ASKING ALL ALONG? YOU CAN'T DISTINGUISH BETWEEN WHAT IS WHAT DURING A FIGHT SCENE BECAUSE ALL YOU SEE ARE PIECES OF METAL CLASHING AGAINST EACH OTHER.

How will the attraction be any different?

I'll take your comments seriously when you see a Transformer film since you have mentioned you haven't seen one....

I can't wait! I am going to come out in 2012 when DCA is finished, so I can enjoy it like a brand new park, and Transformers finally gives me a reason to go to USH (since UO is so amazing I haven't had a need to go when I am in CA).

I don't get the Transformers films. In my opinion, they suck. So I won't ride the attraction. It's hardly judging the attraction itself. If anything, I'm judging the films. If I get confused in the films, how will it be any different in the attraction? Please let me know the answer and I'll think about changing my opinion. Thanks.
like you, i too think the Transformers movies are pretty bad. didn't care for the first, hated the 2nd, and really don't want to bother with 3rd. and i really can't stand Michael Bay's style.

but the Transformers ride looks really AWESOME! there's a difference between the movie experience and the ride experience (which appears to be very involved). i anticipate this attraction and will definitely be renewing my Universal pass for it. yes the movies can be confusing when it comes to following the action, but i don't think it will be exactly like that for the ride. just imagine how intense the experience will be, i can't wait.

i am also excited for RSR but what worries me is the length of the ride. i have it feeling it will be over as soon as it starts. the track layout seems so short, and the race portion itself isn't very lengthy either. but in the end, i think it will still provide lots of fun.

    If your brain still can't differentiate between the good guys & bad guys. Here's a hint, the bad guys always have the RED eyes, and the good have blue eyes. =}

I prefer the classic cartoon version.. even the current 'prime' animated show is better then the movies. I echo the other poster's comments.. the scenes are just so busy, the the bots so 'insect' like in robot form the whole thing suffers and the viewer loses track of what is happening.

My brain is fine, your obviously needs repetition to understand things.

Okay here we go....... when the bad guys and good guys are fighting... you with me so far?... it's hard to tell which is which because... okay get ready for this because I don't want to repeat it again.... it looks like a bunch of metal clunking against each other. You can't tell what is happening because you can't see anything buy moving metal and explosions. If you still need help, read Flynnibus's post.

    Yes.

I don't need the help because I know who is Megatron, Prime, Starscream, Soundwave, and if kids can tell the difference with Bay-formers. Then it sounds just like a bitter jibe, period. They are "metal clunking" because cars, trucks, helicopters, tanks, etcetera are made of steel (even in robot form).

How can you tell if a human is a bad or good person? Like all things, by characteristics and actions. In general, and I said this many times before. Transformers have gone through so many variations since 1984 (Megatron was a T-Rex at one point), I can accept the overall generalization of the bay-formers. If the bots looks too fake, people will complain. If the canon was on the wrong arm (Shockwave), people complain. It's a no win scenario.

When I was a kid, I remember when friends and I always thought/imagine how cool a LIVE-ACTION version would be. Every time I saw construction vehicles or semi-trailer truck, how cool it would be/imagine how it would transformer in a reality setting, etc. So, maybe that's why I can accept the bay-formers because that's how I imagined them to look-like in reality.

The way I look at it, it's like when a novel gets turned into a movie, the end result is always different. After Prime was first killed in the animated film (it was shocking), the rules pretty much went out the door to accept anything what the Transformers universe tossed at me.

The bay-formers look nothing like the originals - not from the comics, not from the toys, not from the animation previous. The originals were dominated (right or wrong..) by their disguised form. The bay-formers are not. The bay-formers only losely carry their distinctive characteristics in their robot form. For the most part 'ah rook same'!

And this is from a guy who used to go to 7-11 to buy his comics.. and would call all of his friends any time any transformer was sighted in a store because they were so rare to find in the early days. We'd scramble at the very news of a sighting of the toys. Back when getting ANY transformer was a cause for celebration.. they were so hard to find.

I remember when transformers knocked off voltron and we got devastor.. and to see what stupidity they made of him in transformers 2, etc..

The characters had plenty of distinction in physical form too - bay has thrown most of that away. When you do that, plus the ultra-high speed they puts into his action sequences.. that is why you get complaints like this.

The animated series do such a better job of modernizing the 'bots.. and giving them a more robotic form (rather then the disguised dominated form) without making it so hard to distinguish who is who.

I mean.. you couldn't find a more original transformer fan then me.. and I find no desire to see the michael bay transformer movies. They screwed with all the identities, they screwed with all the visuals, they screwed with the principle story all together... it only relates to transformers as I know it in character names alone.

I'd take the original animated cartoon over michael bay 100x over.

**Warning**Warning**Warning** this discussion has reached critical nerdiness.. lol jk you guys... but really.

I am sure the bad guys on the ride will look menacing, and want to hurt you, and the good guys will be nice and want to save you. Don't get your undies in a bunch before the ride has even opened.

    lol

So, now you've turned to just trying to bash any little thing you can pull from the TF movie series. Just stop. We get it, your not a fan, can it end at that? This thread has been SOOO sidetracked by complaining, when this attraction looks like it's going to be one of the best attractions at any Universal Studios park, better than most Disney attractions.
