If done right, it can be a cool concept I think. The Walking Dead is starting too look like the "theme" for this year. If the Scare Zone is in close proximity to the maze or TT, it kind of makes it seem like a large majority of the world actually HAS been taken over by zombies. I think thats what they're going for or in order to use the property, that might be a term. I remember last year, Ghostface wanted some advertising for the masks as they were sold in the shop and Ghostface signs were put up.
Just saw this UPDATE online from Universal Studios Hollywood ...
Universal Studios Hollywood will bring their Classic Monsters to life via a burst of electronica during Halloween Horror Nights !
Universal was known for its horror movies in the 1930s and will unite many of the characters from those classic movies — Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, Wolf Man, Bride of Frankenstein and more — in “Universal Monsters Remix” ... Universal already honors its legacy with the year-round attraction, the House of Horrors, but according to a press release, “Remix” will be a new experience for 2012 Halloween Haunt Attendees:
“Laced with the murmur of dialog from Universal’s catalogue of horror films, guests will be besieged by the relentless sounds of high-energy, horror-inspired dance, dub-step and industrial music ... all the fun will be found within the antechambers of an eerily Gothic castle, the new “Universal Monsters Remix” maze will unleash a cast of movies' most legendary creatures, including Frankenstein’s Monster and his Bride, Dracula and his Brides, Phantom of the Opera and The Wolf Man. From deep within the stone fortress, accompanied by ominous strobe lighting effects, guests will traverse dark and dank arteries of rotting catacombs, hallowed underground crypts and pagan sacrificial burial chambers. ..
While, Halloween Horror Nights begin Sept. 21., the event's website is still a teaser (my opinion) and Universal's regular website doesn’t have ticket information yet (my opinion) - wouldn't you like to plan your USH HHN moment now vs later?
Universal Studios Hollywood's “Halloween Horror Nights” experiences will include an immersive new maze 1) “The Walking Dead: Dead Inside” (based on the AMC tv series) 2) “Welcome to Silent Hill” (based on the popular video games and film franchise) 3) a new maze by legendary shock rocker “Alice Cooper Goes to Hell 3D” 4) a reimagined “La Llorona: Cazadora de Niños” maze (based on the Latin American legend) 5) all new “Terror Tram: Invaded by The Walking Dead” (also inspired by the AMC tv series) which will invite guests to navigate the haunted environs of the world-famous movie and television studio backlot and come face to face with hordes of flesh-eating “walkers” 6)“Universal Monsters Remix” (all-new experience re-imagining the classic horror icons of yesteryear for the 21st century)
