Heard from a little birdy that the last showing of terminator 2:3D will be on December 31st, 2012.

I really dont get why they waited this long....unless they plan on the ride opening next christmas then...why start now? Heck I don't even know if they could do it by then....I guess they really think Transformers will pack people in for the next year and a half

Makes you wonder why it's not running for the rest of the week to finish off the Christmas/New Years season.

When I was first told about T23D closing at the beginning of the year, opening day was "spring 2013". IDK how much the timeline has changed between then and now, but if the new attraction doesn't require tearing down the existing complex it could easily be opened before Summer.

Is there anything to confirm that this may be Despicable Me or is this all speculation still?

I think all of the announcements relied in the city passing the vision plan. I think now we will be getting more announcements on new attractions and more wwohp news

It better not be Despicable Me. I rode the ride last month and it was a meh. We don't need another Animation film ride.

We need live action for the adults! We already have Shrek and the Simpsons. And soon Water world will be torn down.

By the way, what the heck with freaking 3d/4D show at Universal?! I want more real live props show not projection show.

Really? But don't they have to add the "pods" and redo the whole outside and entrance zone..and store...seems like a lot of work in 5 months

They can do the interior fairly quickly. I have a feeling they might just go with a new sign and coat of paint for the exterior. I believe the building has won a few architectural awards so they may want to keep it.

Yeah, that's not photoshopped either. I can confirm.

I'm not going to say it, but those counting on something other than what's rumored will be disappointed.

From what I've heard, Demolition is supposed to begin January 2nd. The ride system will be different and we'll be getting two domes. We're also getting a play area (which I'm betting will make up for them possibly taking out Curious George....hmmm that just occurred to me). There's no way it will be done by Summer.
