A Grinchmas Trip to Universal Studios - Picture and Videos (lots)

I hadn't been to Universal Studios since I believe it was Halloween, 1997. We bought the 2013 AP so we get to go back next year!

My family wanted to see Grinchmas. We got there a bit later than we wanted as it was already starting to get crowded but still looked ok.

First thing my kid wanted to see was the real snow that was in the Grinchmas area. Snowballs, even if small, were thrown.

First thing we hit was the tram ride. The wait was a little over an hour but the line was constantly moving. I don't think we stopped for more than 5 minutes a few times.

On the way over to the tram:

We didn't get a chance to ride The Simpsons as we ran out of time, but I'll be coming back many times in 2013

Here are pictures from the Tram Ride.

I could have sworn I pushed the "record" button on my camera..but I didn't. Still it was an awesome attraction. There were screens on either side of the tram and just so much going on with King Kong and a T-Rex. Tons of fun!

Jaws....ok so someone help me out. Why did I think that they took Jaws out? I could have sworn I saw a youtube of Jaws being run for the last time. Was that in Florida? I was confused but pleasantly surprised because seeing this shark brought back child hood memories of my trips to USH in the past.

We had lunch then walked around a bit more in the shops, then headed down to Transformers as it was getting late and we needed to time things right to catch the Grinchmas show.

Before Transformers, we caught the Terminator 3-D show. Very loud but lots going on and great interaction. Great show!

Transformers...woo weee...a FANTASTIC ride! It feels like you are in there fighting but man did I get motion sickness bad. It lasted the rest of the night. I will have to remember that the next time I ride. But some of my cell phone shots inside the queue.

Then it was onto the Grinchmas tree lighting show.

It was a really cute show. Great performances. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Overall, it was a VERY good day. Like I said before, I hadn't been to Universal in many years. I did get the AP for 2013 so we will definantly be back. What keeps me away is my loathing of L.A. and driving anywhere near it, let alone THROUGH it but I can put my rose colored glasses on to get out to Universal again. I want to ride Simpsons, and The Mummy.

Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas to everyone!

What they took out was the Jaws ride in Orlando. I've only been to Universal once, but it was a ton of fun. Transformers was awesome! I was so into all the sets on the Tram Tour that I forgot about taking pictures til pretty much the end. Totally jealous Norman was out on your tour, he wasn't there when I went.

I really am not sure. I thought it was the Hollywood Universal that took out Jaws so now I'm confused and was greatly mislead. But I was glad to see Jaws on the Tram Ride.

Norman was another surprise for me. My parents got a kick out of it to because they used to visit USH alot in the late 70's when I was about 2 or 3. My dad loves all that movie stuff.

    Awesome Trip Report.

I have ridden Transformers about 2 dozens time already. In order to prevent/reduce motion sickness the next time you ride it. Is try to sit in the third row and do NOT put on your 3D glasses throughout the ride this definitely help out a lot.

Fun trip and you got some pretty good pictures! I love that they give you an AP for the coming year when you buy a one day pass.
