I have heard that HRRR is suppose to open this year, but I don't know when. Is the Harry Potter ride still on track to open in 2010?

Rip is supposed to open sometimes this or next month, and HP is going to open next year, summer most likely.
And Harry Potter is more than just a ride, it'll be a whole new area called "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" using part of the Lost Continent "island" at Islands of Adventure. It's going to have the village of Hogsmeade, Hogwarts castle and I heard possibly Diagon Alley as well.
Looks like I'm probably going to Universal in a few weeks for my birthday. If I go to IOA I'll try to get some pics of the Harry Potter construction. From what I've seen so far, Hogwarts castle is going to be massive. Hoping Rip-Ride-Rockit is open by then too.
I knew Harry Potter was getting an entire land, I was just worried that the land would be opened before the ride.
From what I've heard, the "island" will open by June of next year (it's in a contract that it must be open by June 30), and the ride will open in December. Dueling Dragons, or the Dragons Challenge, will reopen with the rest of the land, as will the Flying Unicorn (Hippogriff).
I'm definitely going to Universal in a couple weeks for my birthday, but it looks like we're just going to hit the Studios park as there's more there the BF would like (he doesn't like coasters, but I'm going to trick him into going on Mummy with me), plus we'll really only have time for one park as we won't be getting there until around 11:30 (he has to take someone to the airport in the morning) and we have noon lunch reservations at Emeril's, so we won't even be entering the park until close to 1pm... IOA closes at 8pm that day and the Studios 9pm, so guess which park won out?![]()
That roller coaster looks pretty ready to go!
No words, My tears won't make any room for more,
And it don't hurt, like anything I've ever felt before, this is
No broken heart,
No familiar scars,
This territory goes uncharted...
Haha the way Universal is going right now? I didn't know HRRR was actually going to open. I thought it was just going to stand there. I think I saw a car stopped on the block brake once. I figured they just put it there to take a press photo to leak to the internet to say "we're getting there". This is sarcasm FYI, I drive behind Universal and IOA on Turkey Lake everyday, and have seen it run once. And it was just a snippet. I figure that if it is opening soon, it would be testing much more than that.
It could be this month they keep scheduling these radio broadcasts and canceling them...but I am hoping that by Labor Day I can ride the thing. It did make it very easy for Sea World though...their coaster owned the summer (and it will be tough to beat)
Shoot. I was hoping the coaster would be open when I go there in a couple weeks. Oh well.
