Comcast confirms purchase of Blackstone's half of Universal Orlando Resort

Comcast Corp.'s NBCUniversal will buy the Blackstone Group's half of Universal Orlando for just more than $1 billion, the companies announced Monday, in a deal that adds to Comcast's growing media-and-entertainment holdings and ensures the resort won't be put on the auction block.

Awesome. I think corporate unity is important and for the past decade, Universal Studios anything was basically "anything that isn't Disney". I think having a theme park that belongs to them will help the overall brand for Universal and let them rethink the movies they make as well as the attractions that go along with them.

Not to say that they won't continue to go outside of Universal, but it should help in the long run.
