I still think they shouldve gone with the "Dracula" musical from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"...

Early review that is very negative can be read here. Warning: Spoilers abound in the review. Sounds like craptacular fun to me!

OldSchoolMickey, based on the reviewer it seems there is a lot of sexual innuendo in the show.

Great stagecraft, and easily the best show in the Castle Theater since Conan.
Oh man, can't you give us a review? Pictures? Please

I've really been looking forward to this and hope it is a great big campy-fun mess of a theme park show. I love Universal's shows, for the most part. Waterworld the movie may have been crap, but the theme park show as awesome.

Spill it CoasterMatt, now that the show has soft opened to guests, can't you give us a bit more (but I understand if you are under contract not to say anything)

Well... here's some pics- I didn't get many good pics, unfortunately. The one scene that LOOKED and sounded the best I only got a couple meh pictures of, so please forgive me.

When you first enter- here's what ya see...

Nice title card and underwater lighting effect.

During the show load-in, they have different "postcards" projected on the screen, some of which are good indicators of the tone of the show.

In between the postcards, there are announcements about the show, including a warning about "adult scenes" in the show that would cause confused kids, excited teenagers, and for older married people, thoughts of younger, happier days.

The show starts with video of The Today Show talking about a new expedition to the Black Lagoon-

That boat cruises all over the stage, while the Captain sings the opening number about the Black Lagoon.

One of the best scenes in the show, is when the female lead goes swimming- the boat rises off stage...

She goes out over the audience, singing a nice song, and doing a LOT of different flips and turns- the Creature notices her, and follows along.

I saw this show the other day and it is one of the worst things I have ever seen. I am very glad I didn't have to pay to get into the park to see this piece of crap show. The pre-show announcements were better than the show.

I can't believe this is coming from USH. Seriously, the show was garbage. The only thing entertaining about the show: watching how many people left. During the scene that takes place in the creature's "bachelor pad," people just started streaming out in droves. It had to be at least 400 people that left within about a 3-4 minute window. And nobody clapped. Which is unfortunate because its not the actors' faults that the story, songs and script are horrendous. The singing voices, especially the lead female and the gypsy, were quite good.

I was hoping this would be good, but now I'm worried. How long is, and how early do you have to arrive for a decent sea? I will end up watching it because stuff like the 1986 Little Shop of Horrors and The Rocky Horror Picture Show are some of my favorite movies.

Well if it really is that horrible, I love a good train wreck. Plus I'm a USH passholder so I'll definitely go watch it soon.

I think it was a bad move for Universal to put alot of adult content in this show. I haven't seen it yet, so I can't say how bad it is. However, the movie it is based off of is approriate for all ages. I think many Disney movies like Snow White would frighten kids more than CFTBL.

I've seen a few clips. It looks to have pretty good production values, but the show itself is less than stellar (to put it lightly.) It doesn't really seem any more adult-oriented than their other shows though.

To put it simply, it was entertaining, something that can be easily passed up every visit, but worth a see a couple times maybe in a year. There were some funny jokes and great special effects, but there was really only one song I enjoyed (the swimming sequence, really amazing scene) but that's about it. So overall, it's an ok show, nothing to go out of your way for.

All I know is the stage will work much better for a creepy/funny show during HHN.
