The Saw maze is your average everyday maze. No trigger buttons, no gimmicks, simply a maze. Some very cool effects, though. I won't ruin anything, but expect a walk-through of Jigsaw's "Greatest Hits."

The tram did not impress me this year. Don't get me wrong, it is an amazing experience, but it really was exactly the same as last year. Although they did improve upon the forest scene, which was very cool because all they really need to do is pump in some fog and some scary noises, because you literally are walking through the forest on the outskirts of the backlot.

Halloween was easily the best maze of the night. Amazing story, amazing execution, great acting. Overall amazing maze. They would actually have scenes where they would stop you in the room so you could watch an entire scene play out where Michael kills or takes someone. Very, very well done.

Chucky... well, it was basically House of Horrors.

My Bloody Valentine was rich in detail and effects, but very low on scares. I won't spoil anything, but don't go in expecting anything like Saw or Halloween.

The scarezones were very well done this year, too. My personal favorite was either Freakz or Shaun of the Dead. I loved the whole Shaun and Zombie Ed. Very cool and fun scareactor.

Overall, great year, not as scary as last year's, though. The scarezones were much better, all they need to do is add some more scareactors in. They seemed to be very lacking.

Oh... and I will never smell human excrement the same again.

Re: Halloween Horror Nights 2009 @ Universal Studios Hollywood

Thanks for posting. Haha! I just got hired to work there. The Terror Tram was awesome. I only went through the Saw Maze, but hopefully, when I have more money and I have a good day off, I'll try to check out the rest of the Park. Lol!
I was actually trying to look for a site about Trading Pins, but came across this site. It interested me a lot, so now I'm signed up...obviously. Lol! I found pics of Grinchmas from last year, and now I can't wait till I work during that time. On my nametag, my fav. movie is The Grinch. Teehee! *Dork*
I haven't been to the Park since 2002-2003.

After doing some research, it looks like the building is much darker inside and lights flash showing dinosaurs ripping humans to shreds.

Can anyone give me a good guess as to what lines/crowds will be like this upcoming Sunday (the 18th)? Just wanted to know if Express might be worth it at all...

Thanks guys.

I was there last night and it was pretty crowded for a Thursday. We still did all four mazes but it took longer than last year when we went on a Friday. My advice is to arrive early and do the Saw maze first because it tends to get packed. The wait time peaked at 50 min last night!!

Pshh, we waited 100+ mins for Texas Chainsaw last year, and we're prepared to do it again!

Going tomorrow......so excited!

Re: Halloween Horror Nights 2009 @ Universal Studios Hollywood

Without giving too many spoilers, tell me how much Saw III represented in the Saw maze. Its my favorite Saw sequel and by far the most gruesome of the entire series.

That's all? That was my least favorite trap from that movie. I was hoping for the Rack, the pig guts scene, the chains, and the angel trap.
