Re: What Mazes and Scare Zones do you want to see this year???

UPDATE: Murdy just said he finished the House of Horrors overlay. So far that's five confirmed for this year. Still have my fingers crossed for a sixth maze.

Seriously? I just don't see how that can work out as a maze. Remember, Murdy said it needs three things in order for it to be translated as a maze:

    1) Box office record. I'm not sure how this movie did or if it has come out yet. I'm too lazy to check.

    2) Good maze environment. Ehh.....maybe

    3) Killer that can be replicable for the maze. It might be kind of boring to see the professor jump out at you constantly. The human centipede I don't know how in the world they can pull that off.

I was just kidding about using The Human Centipede as a HHN maze. It's an independent film that has already been released and I've been obsessed with it recently after hearing about it on the radio.

I think we'll see the New Scream movie as a maze this year.

Very exciting that the main page says we'll have info in June!

I really hope it's early June like they said it would come out and not push it back. We've all been waiting very (im)patiently all year for this info to come out!

Also Murdy said on Twitter the big press push would be more for Kong and not as much for HHN. If this press release gets pushed back to later next month I'll be quite mad.

EDIT: Murdy announced that all mazes have conceptually designed. So far he gave hints for four of the mazes he designed AND the House of Horrors overlay. So that tells us there will be a minimum of five mazes this year. He did say earlier in the month about pitching a new maze concept to another studio. I don't know if he was talking about the fourth maze he worked on or if it is a sixth maze. He wasn't real specific (I'm sure it was on purpose.). Fingers crossed for six. Even if there are five...well, at least that's a step forward fro last year and it will still kick a lot of butt!

Knott's did an excellent Scream room in their Horrorwood Fright FestEvil maze several years ago...you walked up the aisle of a movie theater, with the movie "projection" light right in your eyes, and a lot of the seats had dummies dressed up like the ghostface killer....only there were a couple of them that were real that went for the scares...i always loved that room but wonder if it really has enough varied/recognizable scenes to make an entire maze out of
Will there be screams when the sun sets,

^they had a Micheal Myers Maze and its just one guy in a house killing someone in different rooms so I think Scream could work...plus its movie is coming out this year.

true, but the Halloween maze had definantly identifiable scenes from all 3 movies in it...from the Michael killing his sister scene on teh facade of the house, to the Silver Shamrock commercials and masks, to the Dr. Loomis'....omg, that was such a powerful and amazing maze

guh, now i'm really really hoping that maze makes a return this year, you could tell how much John Murdy LOVES the Halloween legacy and how much of that love he poured into the design of that maze

I hate to burst your bubble but it doesn't sound like we're getting any repeats this year. It sounds like Murdy wants to go ALL-new this year which I think is a good thing. I think they learned their mistake from 2008.

Well he could just be word playing with everything. New conceptual designs could just mean he's doing a new overlay to the maze or he moved it to a new spot, which would require some major overhauling.

Re: What Mazes and Scare Zones do you want to see this year???

Okay, franchises confirmed to NOT show up this year:

-Hellraiser. They have a remake scheduled to come out next year. They want to "strike the pan while it's hot."
-Scream. Darn! I was really hoping for this to come. Same reason as Hellraiser. Oh well. I guess that means an awesome line-up for next year!
-The Exorcist. Rights issue. Too bad because it really would have been a cool maze.
-A Nightmare On Elm Street. NCL deal ended. Not going to happen.

So there you have it. I guess the only confirmed movie is the Wolfman.

Funny... I completely forgot about Wolfman... along with the rest of America... oh that's right, THEY DIDN'T SEE IT. Muahahaha, I hope that maze has no line all night!
