    Re: Inside the "Forbidden Journey"

Universal released an image of Hagrits hut which will be seen in the queue for Flight of the Hippogriff, it looks pretty spot on from the movies.

Also it's being reported that this ride will have a full size Womping Willow Audio Animatronic which will have extended kuka arms for each branch, and will "Duel/Attack" the riders (who are also on kula) as well as a full sized Animatronic dragon (lets hope this one works better than DL's did last summer). And a full sized Knight Bus, swinging around/flying (also on a kuka arm) being terrorized by deatheaters. I really hope WWOHP is as amazing as it sounds.

    Re: Inside the "Forbidden Journey"

Fellow Orlando United lurkers/travelers I see.

I've heard all the same rumors/conjectures/supposed leaks, and here's my take:

Whomping Willow-Highly likely; Rupert Grint stated in an interview months ago that it was in the ride, and an AA rather than a projection, his actual words were pretty close to "They've built a life-sized Whomping Willow" I doubt he would refer to it this way if it were a projected screen.

Dragon- Fairly likely; this one's been rumored several times, and makes sense overall, the only thing that makes it all unlikely is the redundancy to the Dragon's Challenge theme, but that ride will not have any Dragon AAs from anything we've heard. Personally, I think the Basilisk is more likely, as we know there's going to be, or was originally planned to be, a Chamber of Secrets room in the ride based on props pictured backstage very early in the construction process.

Knight Bus-Highly unlikely; this just doesn't make sense under most considerations. It's superfluous to the theme as we know it, impractical in terms of weight and size, and downright awkward. I'll be very surprised if this rings true.
Forget 'Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln,' Samantha Brown is Disney's most sophisticated animatronic.

I definitly belief it is a whomping willow. Also the word "character" is in quotes, suggesting it is neither a human nor beast. Think how amazing the movements will be with the Kuka arm and how intense it would be to ride.

Don't think of a gun as a weapon.
Think of it as a third arm that magically
    shoots bullets!

looks like its really going to push the envelope. Do you think that its possible that we could see Universal dethrone Disney here. I mean this ride and immersion is anything that WDW or WDI has come up with....in a long time.

I wish disney would take this concept and run with it but instead of projections use AAs and holograms. But who knows maybe its being discussed in blue sky stage this very day...

In terms of innovation, that already happened over a decade ago.

It was actually just confirmed by ScreamScape that the final scene will be a battle with both projected and audio animatronic dementors. Sounds good

The queue they show in that video looks awesome. Which, considering how thus far the former catacombs of Dueling Dragons have reopened and been stripped of most themeing, it seems like it is a "trade". Though it better be a good one. DD had one of the greatest queues ever. Yes that includes Indy.
