    Leicester Square note--it rhymes with Chester, tester, and pester

    Pronunciation tip! (See thread title.)

    New Harry Potter area note on the Leicester Square Tube (subway) station.
    Yes, this is the least important thread ever. I just want you to sound cooler in front of the many British tourists who will cross the Atlantic for the thrill of passing by this London recreation.

    (Wrote the American man who ate at a McDonald's on the Champs Elysees in Paris and once stayed at the Paris Disneyland's Hotel Cheyenne as his Paris base.)

    Hey, if it weren't for my renfaire experience I'd be wondering why it didn't rhyme with "liechester" rather than "lester".

    Though to be fair, it's always entertaining asking people not from SoCal to pronounce "Junipero".
    Credibility is to be sought for. Credulity is not. Sadly the latter is our normal human state.
