    Universal HL VS Universal HL?

I'm sure this is a common theme but my specific question is does Universal Hollywood have any unique attraction or element to it that shines over the much more leaborate two Florida parks--or a ride that's vastly superior to it's FL version? (I do know Backdraft is only in HL and Japan, not FL)

The Tram tour and actual film production is all USH has. I also prefer USH's Jurassic park to Floridas, but the difference is very very minimal. (Raptor cage VS Falling jeep...when it's working...)

Right of course the tram tour but most of the really memorable aspects of this (Earthquake, Jaws, and ok Kong who's gone now in FL) were replicate dina form at Florida--some would say with better technology and design. Kong missing from Florida seems odd now though I admit.

I haven't been to either since the mid 90s which is partly why I ask here--I still can't believe Hollywood got rid of ET so soon (surely it still did good business). It's easy to find websites with all the tiny details of what's what at Disneyland compared to the other parks (even Tokyo Disney which even 5 years ago was hard to find good info on here now has many great fansites) and how things change but I've yet to find any really detailed Universal fansites...

Does the Hollywood tram even have such old warhorses like the avalanche and collapsing Bridge? How are the Mummy rides different? And the mosnter maze is Van Helsing right? i had the impression that was kinda just a stop gap attraction but maybe I'm wrong?

The mummy rides are very different. FLorida's is actually fun I'm kidding, but the version Florida got blows Hollywood's out of the water. First, the story lines are slighty different, and while they both use the basic same effects, Florida had a much larger building to work with resulting in a bigger coaster section. FL's also has real fire (my favorite part of the ride <insert drooling smilie here>) while Hollywood has a bigger backwards coaster section.

I'm sure they are just going to put in another Maze themed to the next big "horror" movie Universal has (Mummy 3?) and a amaze if they do Hollywood Horror nights again this year (hey, they might even change the inside!)

They still use the Avalanche but it's used for the Mummy and the Collapsing Bridge is still there, but you don't go over it. I'm guess it's just too old.

I heard that the mechanism on the collapsing bridge was too old and not reliable and even broke a couple of times. don't know if that is true but I can say that when I was there in 2005 things seemed a little ricketty and I don't think that was effects.

Yep, its closed now. Also, the Animal Planet Live show is no longer at USH. Its just an Animal stage show. And it kinda sucks now.

I prefer USH over USF... but if you throw in Island of Adventure Florida rocks!

I do miss E. T., but the tram tour in Hollywood is superior to any studio tour in L.A.

The WB tour is the second best tour BTW.

I remember the first time I experienced the collapsing bridge on the tram tour. This was 1986... I was 11 I think. But I remember totally FREAKING and really thought the bridge was going down and we were all gonna die!

The best Universal HL fansite I've seen is thestudiotour.com. It's pretty extensive, with lots of archival pics and information.
Does anyone even bother with signatures anymore?
