Yes... I beleive it is closed... but they will probably turn it into another attraction that has no affiliation with Universal at all... like many of the new attractions Universal parks are coming up with.

    Very True

    Simpsons Ride: Fox

Terminator: I know all 3 movies were produced by three different companies

Curious George: Originally not Universal (Only new movie and episodes are)

    Shrek 4D (Dreamworks)

Fear Factor Live: Originally just NBC (Universal and NBC do work together now)

Orlando: Islands of Adventure: Marvel, Harry Potter, Dr. Suess, Old Cartoon Characters, pretty much the whole park except for Jurassic Park.

Well Disney is teaming with American Idol, so Disney is doing the same.

Another tributory museum is the last thing that I want to see. Now, a Night At the Museum dark ride would be riveting! - especially kif it were a hybrid cross between multimedea ride genras such as Disney's flamboyant classic Pirates of the Caribbean and Universal IOA's techno-interactive 4-D Spiderman.

I also agree - this observation is likely to be the case. Just mentioned A Night At the Museum because I loved the film, and would like to see an attraction based on it. Just because the film belongs to 20th Century Fox does not rule it out as a universal ride.

Well I'm just hoping this Simpsons ride is as good as or better than Back to the Future.

Back To the Future was a state of the art exciting experience at one time. It had lost it's appeal and became dated. The Simpsons ride ill likely do so as well one day. For now though, we have fresh new technological immersion to look forward to - and a hilarious storyline.

Are we talking about the Hollywood or Orlando park here?

well that's why I was confused. I always forget about the Hollywood park. The Lucy Tribute in Orlando is still standing and as far as I know there are no plans to do away with it anytime soon (although I would welcome something new there).

Fear Factor: GE owns bth Universal and NBC.

I agree that Universal is core park brand is mixed but I like this way plus it doesn't help that Universal had about up to three new owners in a decade. lol. Let see, Seagrams, Vivindai, and GE.

Dr. Seuss: Cat in The Hat live-action movie ( Universal/Dreamworks)

Toon Lagoon: Dudley Do-right and Bulwinkle were two live-action movies made by Universal.

Marvel: Universal makes the Hulk movies and the old tv show.

Keep in mind that IOA is not supposed to be related to movies in anyway. In every case of a license, its supposed to only apply to the book form. I know JP kind of breaks this a bit, but thats where it supposedly lies. I'm pretty sure they're getting away from this though since HP will have a big tie in with the movies as well as the book.

Was the Lost Continent based on a book?

The Lost Continent was based on the old mythic stories. Sinbad is definitely a character from literature as are the Gods. HP is technically going to be based on the books, but they're going to bring in lots of things from the movies as well. So I guess they can still say all their islands are based on literature of some form, but now they have movie influences in them as well.
