Disneyland in 1956: FABULOUS movie footage

Total kudos to Ste3ve over at DB.com for spotting this one (http://p098.ezboard.com/Disneyland-i...cID=2191.topic).

A family wins a trip to DL in 1956 and does a WAY better than average job of documenting it on home movies. There is some surprisingly good footage here, and it's nicely edited. The DL trip begins about 19 minutes in, so scoot forward, but it's a pretty thorough tour of the park when it was one year old.

Robbins Barstow is a stud.

What a fun movie! I've always wanted to experience Disneyland in the 1950s. I sure miss the Matterhorn and the Monorail though ~

Great video! I love the narration. Loved how he said, "Calaforneeuh" and loved their matching Davy Crockett jackets.

Great video and find! Like the others have said, I was riveted! 1956, the year I was born. Pretty darn good year.

Re: Disneyland in 1956: FABULOUS movie footage

That was so much fun! I love the older Walt Disney tours of the park, but this was cool to follow a typical American family. And how funny was the narration? Robbins Barstow is quite a character.
