I'm going this Sunday at 10am - we got access to a special preview. I just saw on the museum website that cameras are not allowed! Will definitely limit my early TR but I'll do my best!
We look forward to trip reports and thoughts from the Museum. Photos or not! :)
Please post right here in MiceChat Walt Disney Family Museum section.
Thank you all for attending and let's wish the Family Museum good luck on their big launch!
I will try and take just a couple pictures. Hopefully, this time I won't leave my camera somewhere and have it get taken. :!$#%:
Geez, lotsa restrictions on visiting. From the museum website:
The Walt Disney Family Museum
"Note that all backpacks, parcels, and large bags must be checked."We're set for the sneak preview Sunday but a big bummer if no photos are allowed. (Not to mention the no strollers part! My back is sore just thinking about hauling our 9 month-old in the carrier for an hour or so! Then again, it will be a refreshing change from all the c*** we haul around DLR with us ;) )
"Strollers are not permitted in the galleries."
"Photography and videography are not allowed in the Museum."
Even though I'm only a mile down the road from it, I have to be at work so sadly I won't be able to make the opening.
For those of you who are going opening day...
Are any of you going at the 10:15 am tour? I'd really love to meet up with those of you who are going. My brother (JFSebastian) and his girlfriend (WeWantsTheRedHead) are going. Anyone else want to meet up?
I'm going today, at 3pm to be exact. I didn't read the fine print closely enough, although I was suspicious that cameras wouldn't be allowed. Ah well, should still be cool.
Oh my gosh! 3 more days!!!! :D:yea::thumbup:
Karen and I have tickets for 10:15am on Thu, Oct 1. We plan on spending most of the day there. We're from Seattle so we may not be back for awhile. We may even slowly walk through the museum again in case we missed something the first time through.
The REAL news is that the manager told a friend of ours that there will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 9:30am on Thu, Oct 1st. We don't know WHO will be there BUT who would want to miss it. It would be great to have a nice crowd there to show them our support.
There are awards and other things to see in the foyer before you get into the museum so getting there early to see those things is worth your time.
We're planning on having lunch there and then finishing up the second half of the museum! Woohoo!

I am going next Monday the 5th. Looking forward to it.
Being that my boss is going to be away all this week, I'm going to see if I can slip away for a few hours this Thursday to check it out.
