First trip to Museum

Hello,

Finally got to the Museum for the first time. What a great time I had. I spent about 5 hours there taking it all in. It's kind of hard to do a trip report for it so i will just tell you that if you are interested in the History of Walt the person which all of us should be since we are here you will really be touched by the exhibit. It moved me a little bit.

The gift shop has some really neat items in it as well. i picked a bunch of the E ticket reprints they have and a couple of pins. Anyone in the SF area that loves Disney needs to visit!!!!

Glad to hear your first visit was good one. Though I don't know how anyone could visit and not have a great time.

I have yet to walk out of the last gallery without tears in my eyes.

And, I probably spend almost as much time in gift shop as I do in the galleries.
I almost never come out of there without something.

Yes there is. It is right out front.

Though, it's two aisles over now. I was there last Saturday, and the two parking aisles from Lincoln up are fenced off. There is a cut-through right near the Museum, so you don't have to walk around.

I went while visiting California. We went along with the delusion that there wasn't much to see, and pushed it to the end of the day. We rushed through it in an hour. Worst... mistake... ever...

Sorry to hear that SK, hope you get a chance to come back for another visit soon, and spend more time in the galleries.

Note to anyone else coming for a visit for the first time and or for maybe only one visit... The causal Disney fan can probably make it thru the galleries in two to three hours. The more hard core fans should set aside at least four hours for the galleries.

Personally, since the Museum opened I've spent over 15 hours going thru the galleries, and I skill haven't seen everything... In large part because the Michael - The Director of Collections has been doing an excellent job of rotating in new material as it becomes available or restored. So even if you've already been and think you've seen it all??? Guess again.

The Walt Disney Family Museum is a great experience, and the staff and volunteers are so of the nicest people you will ever meet.
