I have no desire to see Pirates 4, so I will care even less about Pirates 5.

Really ? . I saw Pirates 4 and thought it was awesome ! . It will probably be a while for Pirates 5 to be filmed and released, because they'll probably wait a while before getting started on it, because Johnny Depp said recently that he wants to wait a while before Pirates 5 gets started on. He said that each Pirates of the Caribbean movie should be "Special", and that they should not be made so close in time, each time one if filmed and released, which that is a good thing for each upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movies sake including Pirates 4, that they wait for a period of time before starting on another one, considering there was a 4 year wait between Pirates 3 and Pirates 4.

Well, i can understand why there are more posts on the Pirates 4 MiceChat forum thread, compared to this one here. Which that is because Pirates 4 is released, and Pirates 5 has a while until it gets filmed and released. You had created this Pirates of the Caribbean 5 forum thread, after the forum thread here for Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides, right ? .

Yes, i know. I think there's more posts on that one then there is on this one, because Pirates 4 is the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and there's less posts on this thread because Pirates of the Caribbean 5 has yet to be released.

Johnny Depp Close to Deal for Fifth 'Pirates' Movie (Exclusive)

Johnny Depp is close to signing a deal to star in a fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, an individual close to the negotiations told TheWrap.
In May, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said he was working on a fifth “Pirates” script -- and that he wouldn’t make the movie without Depp
“Hopefully, if this one does well, (Depp) will want to come back and play the character again,” Bruckheimer told the L.A. Times. “But it’s going to depend on the screenplay. It always does. He’s maniacal about not wanting to disappoint his audience.”
"This one" is the fourth installment in the franchise, "On Stranger Tides." And it did do well: This past weekend, it surpassed $1 billion at the global box office.
Apparently, Depp likes what he sees. He’s negotiating for the movie.
Update: Another individual close to the franchise said that a rough draft for the script was in, and that producer Bruckheimer and others were meeting intensively - three and four times a week - on improving it. A deal will depend on whether Depp likes the script, but this individual said the broad strokes were in place for a deal with the lead actor.
Depp's agent Tracey Jacobs declined to comment. A Disney spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
Depp stars as the kohl-eyed, swashbuckling pirate, Capt. Jack Sparrow, in Disney’s wildly successful franchise. The first four installments have grossed a total of $3.7 billion.
Depp is key to the franchise’s success: Without Capt. Jack there’s no “Pirates.”
He is working on another Bruckheimer project, "The Lone Ranger," in which he plays Tonto. That will shoot in October.
Meanwhile, Depp has been driving huge box office success for Disney for close to a decade.
In addition to Sparrow, he played the Mad Hatter in the studio’s 2010 “Alice in Wonderland,” which grossed more than $1 billion worldwide.

I think i remember seeing that video on MiceChat'.com's Pirates 4 thread, or maybe i posted it there a long while back ago . It looks to me like things are working out good, for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and with Johnny Depp returning.

I just found out from one of the Official D23 Expo Event Disney websites, that when the next one takes place in August 2011, one the last day it takes place on, some of the actors/actresses from Pirates 4 will be there, and there is the possibility that they might be there to announce something about Pirates of the Caribbean 5. My guess is that it has something to do with Pirates of the Caribbean 5's release date and full title.
