I knew that James Franco wouldn't work out. I just don't like his acting, period. But I will look past that as Rachel Weisz does make up for alot.

Mila wasn't very good without witch make up. As a witch, not as realistic as the one in 1939.

As for the silk flowers on the sets mixed with "Roger Rabbit" animation-style cartoon flora in Oz... It was really distracting that the special effects lent such a cartoon atmosphere and the makeup and styling of the human characters didn't blend. In that way it was more like Mary Poppins than Wizard of Oz.

*sigh* can it be tomorrow around 7:30 already? (I'll probably hit the 6:45 or 7:30 showings depending on crowds)

So my son is REALLY excited to see this. On KIIS FM this morning, Ryan interviewd James Franco and he talked a bit about the movie and how it works into being a prequel and mentioned the other versions of the story. My kid was listening intently. I can tell you that my kid is not a movie theatre type of kid. But for some reason, this movie has intrigued him....

Well, Oz isn't a child but if the boy thinks he can get swept up by a tornado and then become the ruler of a colorful and CGI world...then I'm doing SOMETHING wrong!

Actually, he likes the Judy Garland one. But I think that also has something to do with me. I tend to sing with and to him alot and when I have that movie in we sing. He likes the Lion

I <3 the soundtrack from Danny Elfman and I'm glad WonderGallery in Downtown Disney Anaheim has the Costumes & Sets on display .... I truly want this Film to be more of a blockbuster then Jack the Giant Slayer (2013's 1st box office tank) ... My only complaints? Not enough marketing on Walt Disney Pictures part (although there's some nice merchandise @ Disney Store) and I really feel this film should be released Easter Weekend to take advantage of a "spring break" crowd that would flock the local theatres ...
