'Tron: Legacy' sequel back on the Grid at Disney

The Hollywood Reporter has just posted a story that Disney has a 'Tron 3' script in-house and is actively seeking a deal with screenwriter Jesse Wigutow, who is also working on an adaptation of 'Peter and the Starcatchers', to rewrite it.Joseph Kosinski, the Director of 'Tron: Legacy', is still attached to direct the film. That film pulled in over $400 million at the box office.

Re: 'Tron: Legacy' sequel back on the Grid at Disney

I definitely want to see it happen but at $400 million in box-office revenue, why do they consider Tron:Legacy a financial loss? The popular rumor always seemed to be that there might not be another movie since the last one was "a loss." With numbers like that, I don't see a loss at all. Am I missing something?

Same here. I actually saw it in IMAX 3D the second time around. The single best movie experience of my life.

I hope so to, I enjoyed watching the film and I also enjoyed the music from the film so much, that I purchased the Tron Legacy soundtrack from Itunes.

I think Walt Disney Co Executives are finally realizing that TRON:Legacy was more of a financial hit (with merchandise selling strong) compared to these epic fails - John Carter (or Mars), Sorcerers Apprentice, Mars Needs Moms, Prince of Persia ...

Wow, Walt Disney Pictures sure released some stinkers (no wonder why the bought LucasFilms) ....

This x100000. They did such an outstanding job with Tron: Legacy's score. I've probably listened to it around thirty times now.

^ Sounds like my husband. But, I would love to see another TRON movie as well.

    -
The films are just a feast for the eyes...and the two films both stand on their own. Both have a unique and amazing graphic design look that i find appealing and outright cool.

The stories are entertaining, and both have a lot of hidden meanings ( Legacy in particular ) that make them both more then just movies *about being trapped in a video game*.

I hope Tron 3 keeps in that spirit.
Oh...and i hope to hear Daft Punk return to do some more kick-butt musical scores for the new film !
