Disney Film Updates: 'POTC 5', 'Maleficent', 'Brad Bird's '1952' & The Muppets 2

Disney announced today that 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' starring Johnny Depp will set sail in theatres on July 10, 2015. The franchise's last film, 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' brought in over $1 billion at box offices worldwide.

Also announced, 'Maleficent' starring Angelina Jolie originally scheduled for release on March 14 will now open on July 2, 2014.

'The Muppets 2', reportedly starring Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell of ABC's 'Modern Family' with Tina Fey in talks to join them, just began production and is set for release on March 21, 2014.

And '1952' starring George Clooney from Writer/Director Brad Bird and Co-Screenwriter Damon Lindelof will open December 19, 2014. The super secretive sci-fi 3D epic follows Bird's billion-dollar blockbuster, 'Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol'.

Also announced today, Marvel's 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' starring Chris Evans will hit theatres in on April 4, 2014 and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' lands on screens August 1, 2014. Both films will be 3D.
