re: The Optimist: Disney's WDI/WED Tomorrowland Movie ARG - Summary and Recap

Doesn't Innoventions have something about "building a better tomorrow" in either the global neighborhood area by Seimens or the Home of Tomorrow? Or, the previous location of the House of the Future perhaps?

Great video MM! Was fun watching live as you got the phone call!

re: The Optimist: Disney's WDI/WED Tomorrowland Movie ARG - Summary and Recap

One of Wells' books was... The First Men In The Moon! Also, Wikipedia can be a friend...

From quite early in his career, he (Wells) sought a better way to organise society, and wrote a number of Utopian novels. The first of these was A Modern Utopia (1905), which shows a worldwide utopia with "no imports but meteorites, and no exports at all";[27] two travellers from our world fall into its alternate history. The others usually begin with the world rushing to catastrophe, until people realise a better way of living: whether by mysterious gases from a comet causing people to behave rationally and abandoning a European war (In the Days of the Comet (1906)), or a world council of scientists taking over, as in The Shape of Things to Come (1933, which he later adapted for the 1936 Alexander Korda film, Things to Come). This depicted, all too accurately, the impending World War, with cities being destroyed by aerial bombs. He also portrayed the rise of fascist dictators in The Autocracy of Mr Parham(1930) and The Holy Terror (1939). Men Like Gods (1923) is also a utopian novel.

re: The Optimist: Disney's WDI/WED Tomorrowland Movie ARG - Summary and Recap

I posted this notice from the Carolwood website on Amelia's blog, but thought I'd put it here as well. We don't need anyone getting delayed by unforeseen construction.

    SPECIAL PARKING ALERT!
The surrounding streets and parking areas near the Disney Barn are a mess with closures and detours. We have decided to open even though there will be some challenges. Look for and follow the special signs for Disney Barn parking and then a queue up for Barn tours.
The usual east/member parking area will not be accessible. Guests will need to follow our posted signs to the LALSRM west parking lot. They will also enter through the main LALSRM entrance and we will escort them to the Barn area.

Thanks for the note! We scoped it out yesterday. It will another early day for me tomorrow, as I head up to the barn!

Excited to see what we see! Yesterday's full recap is in the first post.

The telegraph station at the NOS/Frontierland Station is reading Walt's opening day speech in Morse Code. Is this relevant to the new attraction poster details?

My guess is they replaced the message with a clue. Waiting for someone to post a recording of the new Morse code message.

I have a blog here on MiceChat. I don't normally self-promote, but this week's post is about The Optimist. I thought some of you might enjoy reading my thoughts/summary of this event.

re: The Optimist: Disney's WDI/WED Tomorrowland Movie ARG - Summary and Recap

According to the Blog, Ricky decoded the new message at the Train Station:

“Welcome society members of 1966 and our new inductee RDB.”

Ray Bradbury is who they are suggesting the initials are for, which seems to make sense given the circumstances.

Another interesting point: The person who links to the morse code sound recording (by Jeff, one of our Communicore Weekly hosts), is by a gentleman named Roland. Considering Jeff wrote his biography, I'm wondering if it's Rolly Crump himself following along...

I'm loving this game! Wish my pass wasn't blocked so I could go to Disneyland and check things out

And I might be wrong about this, but did you guys think about going to that one little store (with the books of crests in it) behind the castle and seeing if there's a clue in there that has to do with the crest in Club 33? I would check it out! Just a thought

Given the Ray Bradbury reference in the New Orleans Square telegraph message, has anyone checked out the Halloween Tree's plaque in Frontierland to see if anything is on it?

The fountain of youth really is in Florida... thats why they built Walt Disney World where they did.

The plaque only comes out for Halloween.

Updated the first post with our adventures. Just a little over a day until "The Bench".

Poor docents! They spend all day trying to correct folks about misinformation (frozen Walt, racist Walt, etc). I can only imagine how stressful this was for them.
