I only watched this when it was in theatres, and I think I ruined my experience because I'd just finished reading the original book. I need to rent and re-watch this again.
Brought my PS3 and some Blu-rays to my folks place for Thanksgiving to help them get caught up on some new movies.
Up - We laughed as the movie started out and my Dad complained, "Aw, no, this is depressing!" It was interesting to watch these movies with people who knew nothing about the stories, because Dad was really struck by the Carl's sadness. Mom happened to be asleep in bed, tired from cooking all week. So thumbs up to Disney for including a DVD in this set; I left it with them so she could watch it later.
Star Trek - Dad enjoyed this too. He was surprised, of course, when Leonard Nimoy showed up.
MGM: When the Lion Roared - This is a six-hour documentary included on The Wizard of Oz Blu-ray. Despite Patrick Stewart's somewhat pompous delivery in his filmed hosting bits (I blame the director :p), it's a great look back at the creation and history of MGM, made even more sad by the fact that today the studio's now for sale once again.

Angels and Demons (Extended Cut on Blu Ray)
Liked it MUCH better the 2nd time. I still prefer The DaVinci Code but it was good. Oddly enough, I like the book Angels and Demons the best out of Dan Brown's books.

The Blind Side- I hate football. I hate all these feel good movies about football. And that being said, this was a wonderful movie. Sandra Bullock was awesome and it was SUCH a good story. I recommend it.

Me, myself and I went and saw Fantastic Mr. Fox last night and it was exactly like the title says, fantastic..... fantastically awesome. This movie is suppose to be a kids movie and there were some kids in there watching it but it had more jokes that adults would get more. On some of the jokes, the adults were laughing more then the kids. I cussin reccomend it (especially if you want to understand that cussin part, it's pretty funny)

Star Trek - The Motion Picture
I haven't seen this in a long time ... Gawd I forgot how boring it is. Star Trek II is MUCH better.

You didn't love the 30 minute shuttle ride to the Enterprise?

Definitely a film you need to be prepared for before watching. However, you should listen to the audio commentary to the new Star Trek movie. Among the entertaining and interesting anecdotes you'll learn is that JJ Abrams acknowledges that the 13-hour ;) shuttle tour by Scotty for Admiral Kirk around the newly refitted Enterprise in TMP inspired his 3-second :p tour around his new starship.

I watched a couple I finally added to my DVD collection. I recently picked up the Steel Book Lord of the Rings 6-disc set. So, from that I watched:
The Fellowship of the Ring - I haven't seen it since the theatrical release. Some of the CG is looking dated already. Makes me wonder how it would look if they made it now with new CG technologies. Still a good movie though.
And I also watched some more Peter Jackson:
King Kong - It's pretty good, but I got to admit, some scenes do drag on and could've been shortened. Again, this is one I haven't seen since the theatrical release.

Tinkerbell and the lost Treasure- the animation is beautiful! And Tinkerbell was more true to her character. I still don't like that she can talk.

Haha and I thought Star Trek 2 was pretty awful, I definitely agree that The Motion Picture is that much worse.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
I watched it a couple of years ago, and ended up turning it off. It made NO sense. Basically...I didn't get it. After reading the book, I got a big kick out of it this time around. I ended up actually liking it. Johnny played Thompson really well.

Precious & Ninja??...
Precious was ok, some distrubing scenes. Wouldnt see it again.
Ninja Asassian?... My goodness! So much for us thinking Nicholas Cage was in it! LOL, anyway we decided to just sit through the entire movie. Lots of blood and gore! Ugh, so not our movie! It was ok but I wouldnt watch it again either.
Im still for Blind Side!!! :D
