PIRATES! BAND OF MISFITS -- I have to say, I love Aardman animation but this film, while visually beautiful, wasn't enough for me. I was entertained enough that I didn't fall asleep, but it seemed targeted more for chldren and not as witty or clever as Wallace and Gromit. I haven't seen Frankenweenie yet but I can already predict this being my least favorite Oscar nominee.
LES MISERABLES -- Watching it a second time, it's better than the first time (being a les mis virgin). I have to say, it's more about the music that I enjoy so now that I know it so well, it's definitely making it less sluggish. There was still that part where Hugh Jackman was talking and then all of a sudden bursting into song... I still laughed at that.

Zero Dark Thirty
Wow, just another amazing movie. I'm not going to lie, some of it was VERY hard to watch ... VERY. But the movie does a great job of bringing you into the story from the second the movie begins and it never lets up. There is no "filler" in this movie, each scene brings the movie forward to it's inevitable end.
I still think Argo may have been the better movie, but this is certainly up there. I don't think everybody would like it, but I really think it's one of those movies everybody needs to see.

FRANKENWEENIE -- I liked it better than THE PIRATES but it was another decent Tim Burton film that was often predictable and not entertaining enough to own or care about. I thought Rise of the Guardians was a better film than this.... but then again, I thought 'Guardians' was better than Brave.
SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK -- Great performances, good story, not going to win Best Picture.
I was also really annoyed that the reverse camera angles didn't match up with the dialogue. You hear talking and their jaw isn't moving... or their jaw is moving and they're not talking. It's annoying and sloppy.

The Human Centipede. Horrible, horrible movie. 2 hours of my life i can never get back.
Re: The "What Movie Did You Just See?" thread RELOADED
"Human Centipede" - is it back enough to be craptacular? So bad it's good? One of those movies that you laugh at for how bad it is? Please tell me it is- I love those kind!

The Bourne Legacy
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this reboot of the Bourne franchise without Matt Damon, but the way they did it really worked well and actually made sense. The movie was really good although I did feel it was about 30 minutes too long. Will be interesting to see where the franchise goes from here.

Die Another Day
Casino Royale
Quantum of Solace
and at the theater last night before it hits Blu...
Skyfall
Happy 50th 007! I've been watching the big 50th Blu-Ray set since December. Hard to say which one I like the best out of the series. I like them all. But just to categorize a couple...
Most fun with the best one-liners, innuendo, over-the-top gadgets: the Roger Moore movies
Most closely resembling Ian Fleming's literary Bond: the Daniel Craig movies.
And at the theater a couple weeks ago:
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey IMAX 3D - Good movie. I enjoyed it. But the high frame rate took some getting used to, especially in 3D and on the Big IMAX screen.

Unfortunately this one was just so bad that it was... bad.

At the theater yesterday:
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Cineplex is doing a Digital Film Festival here in Canada throughout the week. Yesterday, as part of the film festival, they were playing all 4 Indiana Jones movies back-to-back. Temple was the only Indy movie I haven't seen on the big screen yet so I went to see it. The theater was packed, but I managed to get a good seat. It was awesome seeing the mine cart chase on the big screen. I did see Raiders last Sept on IMAX, but I was also contemplating seeing Crusade as I didn't see that one in a theater since '89 when it came out.

Paranormal Activity 4
These are guilty pleasure movies for us. They are fun. This one was no different.
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter
I had seen this in the theater and really liked it for what it is. The book was better, but it's still a fun movie.
Die Hard with a Vengeance
After the disappointing Super Bowl this was on and it's always a fun movie to watch. This and the original are my favorite Die Hard movies.

movie 43. this movie is either love it or hate it and the jokes are kinda strong. but i did enjoyed the movie though. the beginning was just too funny especially the balls part and it reminded me of south park. so far this movie was kinda like a south park type style lol. i liked it so much i saw it twice.

Flight
WOW!! I enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would. Denzel is of course amazing in it. Don't go in expecting any action outside of the first 15-20 minutes (despite what the previews tell you). The movie has this intensity that builds continuously throughout the movie that is done in a great way. Definitely recommended.
The Woman in Black
Daniel Radcliffe was great in his first post Harry Potter role. The movie was pretty great I thought, had some unexpected twists and turns and some pretty good "scares'. I enjoyed it very much. There was a portion of the movie where it's only Daniel for about 20-30 minutes and it's pretty rare that an actor can pull off such an extended portion of a movie solo, he pulled it off nicely.

I liked The Woman in Black. I desperately still want access to that house, though. I could get some really amazing pictures there.
Re: The "What Movie Did You Just See?" thread RELOADED
THE SWITCH -- Jason Bateman and Jennifer Anniston star in this romantic comedy about two best friends who.. well.... she has a baby, and... it may or may not be his. I actually liked this movie! It's cute.
Re: The "What Movie Did You Just See?" thread RELOADED
Paranormal Activity 2 and now 3. They're terrible movies, but kind of entertaining. :) I'm told 4 is even worse. :)
