[Alice's Wonderland]

The Princess and the Frog- I had issues with this movie. I love the message Tiana's dad gave her, the fact that she makes beignets! and Tiana's overall character.

However, as a teacher, I always view children's movies through the eyes of my students. And this movie was way too dark. I expected voodoo. I didn't expect that to be such a prominent park of the movie. And the dark spirits were creepy!

It ended well and I think that made up for a lot of the middle, but it's not something I'll be taking my 5 year old niece to see. Which I find super disappointing.

I didn't think they were that dark. The Evil Witch and Pinocchio are way scarier. Oh and The Black Cauldron too.

I heard that from a friend as well about the dark spirits, etc etc. I really dont have an interest in seeing this movie...

I saw Up In The Air last night. I thought all of the performances were good, George Clooney, Anna Kendrick, and Vera Farmiga all had interesting characters. I'm sure we will be hearing this movie a lot going into award season.

NNL and I just got back from the Rifftrax Live Christmas Shorts-Stravaganza. Truly a hilarious and entertaining time at the movies. Hard to ear we were laughing so hard, and such a bizarre mix of short films. So much to make fun of.

The only problem I had with it was Weird Al was underutilized. Only 1 short? Seemed so odd...still amazingly funny though!

Just watched ROCKET SCIENCE which is about a stuttering boy who joins a debate team... not exactly rocket science. One thing's for sure, it's probably about as boring as rocket science.

I just got back from seeing the most visually stunning thrill ride of a movie Avatar, and before that, I saw 5 minutes of A Christmas Carol 3D even though I've already seen it. Funny story actually, as I said at the beginning, I went and saw Avatar at a midnight showing. It took AMC theaters 2 different trailers (Alice in Wonderland and How to Train A Dragon 3D) and the Disney logo before they realized opps.... we forgot to change the reel from A Christmas Carol to Avatar Everyone was booing and whatnot because we paid money to see Avatar, not Christmas Carol which was a good movie when I saw it, just not great. So I saw Alice and Dragon 3D twice along with the trailer for Hubble 3D and Shrek Forever After

Avatar - Living off of four hours sleep right now and feeling good! Watched the midnight show last night, in IMAX 3D. OH. MY. GOD! Amazingly great visuals! Story was decent enough, the characters were motivating, but it was the stunning GC animation and the world, alien and creature designs that are the best features of this movie. The movie's definitely got an epic quality to it overall, with a great balance of romantic story, conflict and drama, and the final battles. Seeing it in 3D where the stereo speakers in an IMAX theatre are the best definitely enhanced watching the movie at its optimum best. One of my friends wants to watch it in 2D now, and I may follow suit.

Oh, man and I was going to watch Avatar today. Instead I watched The Princess and the Frog. Next weekend Avatar!
