On DVD:
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World: Great movie. Picked it up at Walmart in their $5 bin. There's rumours floating around that they want to make a sequel to it. This was the 2nd time I've seen it.

It was a Robert Downey Jr. fest on Saturday
Chance Are-Corny love/romance movie but I enjoyed Robert's younger days. * swoon* And why does Mary Stuart Masterson get hooked up with all the hot guys? She's not all that.
Heart and Souls- First time I saw this movie and I thought it was good, had some funny parts. Sort of reminds me of Ghost and the Sixth Sense with less thrill.
I watched Brothers this morning. It was an emotional and scary for a Marine to watch. This movie depicted some of the worst fears for a Marine.
Not anxious to die Sir, just anxious to matter.

The Princess and the Frog
I loved it. I really hope Disney continues to do hand-drawn animation and not let the box-office dictate the future of the medium. It was a great return to form for 2D animation.

It was on tv a few days ago.
I've OD'd on Jackie Chan this week:
Crime Story
Who Am I?
Gorgeous
Miracles
Coheteboy, glad you liked Police Story!
Astroboy
It was cute for what it was, not anything that needs to be seen again. Worth the Netflix rental I guess.

As for me, I thought Astro Boy was about 1,057 times better than Princess and Frog, which I'm not even bothering to rent. I bought the Astro Boy DVD, and it has a lot of cool extras, including 2 new animated sequences. Which is better than what I got on the Snow White DVD - seems Disney saved the GOOD stuff for the Blu-Ray. Major ripoff. That's the main reason I doubt I'll be buying any more Disney-related videos in the future.

Ponyo - I actually watched the first hour last week before I stopped it to take a long nap. Finally finished the rest of it tonight. Dunno if it was 'cause I was working off a cold bug I had last week, but the final forty-odd minutes of the film I thought was the best! Ponyo as a cute little cute was so charming, so believable, and entire underwater world so beautifully rendered, I was just wowed! I'll need to watch it all over again in one sitting to see if I see the first hour differently now!
The Princess and the Frog - I was lucky enough to watch the first thirty minutes at D23 Expo last year, and I wasn't overly impressed with it, especially the music. Sitting down to watch the entire movie at home for the first time this afternoon I learned the best music was yet to come! The moments after both leads become frogs (which is where our thirty-minute preview ended at the Expo) were a lotta fun and music was definitely toe-tapping. All the stuff happening in the bayou was the best. Not the best Disney princess flick imo, but on a par with Mulan which I love too.
