Wife and I just got home from The Men who Stare at Goats

Pretty interesting and funny. The movie dragged at the end, but the acting was good and Clooney & McGregor play pretty well off each other.

UP- I watched it last night and I got to admit that this was pretty good (as much as it was in theaters).

Just got back from the late showing of A Christmas Carol. Wonderfully done. Jim Carrey was wonderful and Gary Oldman as Bob Cratchit just grabbed at your emotions.

I do agree with Pirate Lover 68 with the
    Spoiler
Death chasing Scrooge action scene. Wasn't needed. And wow, who else thought that scene when the Ghost of Christmas Present dying was super creepy.

Michael Jackson's This Is It. I finally got around to seeing it and I thought it was pretty good. Still can't believe he's gone.

I saw a bunch over the last week, all on DVD:

The Chaos Experiment - starring Val Kilmer. All I'm going to say is borrrrring. Don't waste your money or your time. I was awake maybe for 1 minute, just because there were boobs on the screen.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs - I thought this one was going to be good. The first two were much better. The story was strange. Dinosaurs co-existing with ice age animals? The first thing that came to my mind when I saw that underground cave with the jungle was this.

Crossing Over - starring Harrison Ford. His first post Indy 4 movie. It was actually pretty good. It was structured like Crash where there were a number of stories intertwined. The theme of this one was imigration. Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd also star in it.

And since it was Remembrance Day on Wednesday, I watched the Walt Disney Treasures set On The Front Lines, all the shorts including the feature length Victory Through Air Power. A very interesting set in the WDT line and an eye opener. Thanks for preserving our freedom veterans.

This evening I was going to watch UP, but I was doing more experimentation with it than watching it. It appears the Canadian DVD has a flaw which I'll report about in a separate thread.

What an inspired great idea, Barbossa. I was really surprised by the quality and timely patriotism in that set. I'll have to pull that out and re-watch it soon.

    Speaking of "timely patriotism"

Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut - I ultimately couldn't pass up Amazon's $30.99 price for this. Sort of a double dip for me because I already have the Director's Cut version, and sorta not since I didn't pick up either of the separate Tales of the Black Freighter or Motion Comic discs. (Am I still trying to justify this purchase to myself, lol? ) Anyway, I watched over two hours of the 3:35 minute cut last night before going to bed. I'm excited to finish watching the rest of it sometime today. For a guy who's read the graphic novel a couple of times, I enjoyed and appreciated the new Black Freighter material edited into the Director's Cut, including additional new bookend scenes with the newsstand guy and the comic book teen. Did it need it? No, I don't think so. It does enhance the experience a tad, but ultimately (sorry, no pun intended), I am glad I picked up this version; I'm sure I'll re-watch again and lend it to friends who're interested seeing it. Plus there's the two new commentaries to listen to as well. The snazzy Blu-ray slipcase with the magnetically sealing cover is cool too.

Usually around Remembrance Day/Veteran's Day I like to pull out some war movies from my DVD collection like Das Boot, Memphis Belle, and U-571, or even some of the Young Indiana Jones WWI episodes, but this year I decided to re-watch On The Front Lines.

Last week I picked up on DVD The Muppet Movie and The Muppet's Christmas Carol, both in the Kermit's 50th Anniversary line. Today I watched The Muppet Movie. I haven't seen it since I was 5 or 6 (sometime in the mid 80s). I was surprised how well this movie still holds out today. It was sad to see many of the human actors that are no longer with us though, which was pretty much a majority of them. I also found all the Hare Krishna jokes funny, something I didn't understand when I was a kid. I'm still looking for the Rainbow Connection though...

That movie was the biggest waste of money and time! I waited in line for 30 mins and was very disappointed...very.

Hopefully the new twlight movie will make up for it this friday night!!!

The Ballet Shoes. Great movie, well done, well acted. Loved it.

Got my copy of Up. Such a wonderful movie! Can't wait to get my Blu-Ray player so I can see this in HD.

BTW Carl and Russell rank up there as my favorite Disney/Pixar characters.
