Pandorum- We watched this OnDemand last night, and it was alright for a Sci-fi movie. There were a lot of holes in the storyline, but it was entertaining, albeit with familiar storylines from other movies in the Sci-Fi genre. What probably saved it from being a disaster was the twist at the end.

Robin Hoodwith Errol Flynn. STILL the best Robin Hood film out there. Got to see the original uncut version. I'm finding that I'm rediscovering the old classics and enjoying them more than the modern films.

Appaloosa By far one of the best westerns I've seen in years. Was VERY impressed!!

    Rent: Filmed Live on Broadway

    awesome

after watching Rent in person, i can't watch the motion picture (movie version) anymore.. it simply doesn't live up to it at all.. the closest i can get to it is the one filmed of the last broadway performance

Any suggestions on what to watch next to wash out that movie from my brain? I honestly didn't enjoy it at all, but the 3D was probably the best I've seen for a live action movie, which is saying something.
i'm a dancer and i wouldn't ever pay to see this movie -__-

    The Karate Kid (remake)

I thought it was pretty good. I love Jackie Chan, though. So I'm a little biased.

Some trivia for you. This movie is called the Kung Fu Kid EVERYWHERE ELSE except for the states.

    The Other Guys

it was actually funnier than i thought. the humor was strange at times, like it was a cartoon. it was ridiculous but funny at the same time. very enjoyable!

    Spoiler
the parts that really made me laugh were all the TLC references by Michael Keaton and the bed bath & beyond jokes, Keaton with his apron, hahahaha.

i liked KungFu Kid a LOT.. the original movie was a bit bastardized as far as American customs go.. other than the fact that it dealt with Karate, the Eastern influences were almost non-existent..

i felt that this remake, while dealing with Kung Fu instead of Karate, VERY MUCH touched back on its Eastern roots and really brought that sense of cultural discipline into the story.

i also LOVED the fact that Chan's character was a broken man plagued by his past.. his performance was amazing.

    A Bug's Life

theres a bit of a story behind this one... for some odd reason, A Bug's Life was always near the bottom of my list of Pixar films with Ratatouille..

so i decided to give it another chance.. it's actually a REALLY good movie! and the music is astounding! i love the fact that it deals with a very deep, mature, and serious matter; and can be related to the U.S. government current and past.

the movie has climbed quite a few spots from just this viewing..

now i'm wondering if the fact that Ratatouille is at the bottom of my list is just because i didn't give it a second chance like i did with A Bug's Life..

Good movie!! I was surprised because I'd heard bad reviews, but I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. At around 2 1/2 hours in length, I felt that it did seem to drag on in places, mostly at the end. But it was pretty terrifying to watch, all things considered.

Some trivia for you too: Also called Karate Kid in Canada.

    Saw a couple on DVD:
The Incredible Hulk - My sister and her boyfriend haven't seen it yet so watched it with them.

    Rental:
Valkyrie - Pretty good movie. A number of actors in there from Pirates 2 & 3. Funny how they delt with the language issue - kind of did the transition like in 13th Warrior. But I couldn't help myself, anytime Hitler was on the screen, I kept thinking he was going to go into a tirade about something; vuvuzelas at the world cup, Avatar day, whatever. Gonna have to rent Downfall one of these days.
