Saw Paranormal Activity 2 over the weekend. I actually enjoyed it more than the first one. Very similar movie and ties in with it nicely, but just better done. Of course they had a real budget this time around, which helps. Also, it's always fun to watch whole audiences jump out of their seats.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

    The Rocky Horror Picture Show

In the theatre. Full-on shadowcast & audience participation. All kinds of wrong, yet all kinds of awesome.

MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS -- GEEZ. Can I just say that I'm really glad it was only an hour and a half? Not even the likes of Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor, George Clooney, and Kevin Spacey could save this movie.

    Continuing my Halloween moviethon...

The Goonies - Ok, it doesn't quite have horror or Halloween written all over it, but it is a great movie to watch in October. Why? And why particularly on October 26? Because over at the TheGoonies.org message board, some of my fellow Goonies have concluded that The Goonies set out on their adventure on October 26. So, October 26 is unofficially Goonies Day (hopefully we can make it as popular as Talk-like-a-Pirate day ) Let's see, what could tie it to Halloween? Well, it's got skeleton pirates, a couple corpses, bats, and creepy caves. I've loved this movie ever since I was 6 when I saw it at the theater back in 1985. There's just something magical about this one. The story is great. The down-to-earth feel is great. The score by David Grusin is great. No CGI is great. An excellent family film. Goonies never say die!

Don't know why that movie was praised so much, it was such a lackluster film!

    Rocky Horror Picture Show

Not the full theater experience (unfortunately) but my daughter wanted to watch it for the first time. I think she liked it, although she thought it was kind of weird. She did admit it was better than the crappy Glee version though, so there is hope.

    Psycho (Original)

The wife and kids had never seen it, still incredibly creepy after all these years. There is a reason it's a classic.

    Mean Girls

some people find it funny that myself as a 27yr old man would have this movie among his favorites. but I do like this movie a lot. the exaggerated but to an extent true nature of the humor in this movie are hilarious. plus who doesn't like a good conniving, fake, backstabbing, betraying story?

I saw The Goonies 4 times in the theatre that summer. And I still have my original VHS when it first came out on video. One of my all-time favorite movies. I've seen it hundreds of times. Know it by heart.

    Paranormal Activity 2

boring as hell. It was like watching a movie that was made using posts from somebody's Facebook wall as the script. Cheap and pointless, a shameless cash grab. Not really a sequel, just a crass retread of the original.

    Continuing my Halloween moviethon...

The Monster Squad - "Creature stole my Twinkie!" A quintessential Halloween movie. I watch his one every year, like Christmas Vacation. After watching The Goonies, thought I'd follow it up with a movie that was clearly inspired by it, and it's got Mrs. Walsh! It's campy, but it's fun. "Wolfman's got nards!"

Please Hollywood, do not remake this one.
