Re: The "What Movie Did You Just See?" thread RELOADED

I've been watching Turner Classic Movie channel over the Halloween weekend and watched a few films I haven't seen in along time.

The first up was the Jodie Foster film The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane. This film scared the living stuff out of me when I was a kid.

Another film I caught on TCM was the always great What Ever Happened To Baby Jane.

And finally, a selection from my DVD collection(hey that rhymed)
The 1975 Karen Black made for T.V. film Trilogy of Terror.
Hands down, the one film that gave me nightmares as a kid.
Not so much the first two stories but the third story with the Zuni fetish doll that comes alive and attacks Karen Black.

Funny stuff now but when your 4 years old... I think my parents had it out for me.
Crazy Larry loves ya! ......Hurry up before they lock me up!

Predators - Not great, but also not bad either. It just feels like a re-hash of the first movie with Schwarzenegger and the first AVP movie.

    Hereafter

I Enjoyed the film, I walked out the theater smiling. Another Clint Eastwood film that made me emotional, I can't wait fo the Blu-Ray release to hear the director commentary.

    DisneyNature's Oceans

Truly fantastic, Earth was GREAT but IMO Oceans was better. This is something that HAS to be seen on Blu Ray/Hi Def, the visuals are simply amazing and Pierce Brosnan does a fantastic job with the narration.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - A trip down nostalgia lane for me. As an adult, it's less a smooth ride as a whole than watching it over and over as a kid. But definitely another showcase for Mr. van Dyke. The man is incredibly talented!! Coincidentally I watched Goldfinger recently; funny seeing Gert Frobe so soon as a hammy comedy actor.

Superman: The Movie - Have this playing now. Such a charming film, my favorite of Reeve's four Superman films. I don't get why people think Brandon Routh is so good as Superman; Christopher Reeve exudes so much more acting confidence and charm in both roles as Kent and Kal-El that Routh never displayed. And this film unfolds comparatively slower to current films; I love that it takes its time unlike how films today generally "need" to be cut to move so must faster.

Agreed. Though I think Brandon Routh is a much better actor NOW than he was when he did Superman Returns. I think if he had another go at it he would pull it off much better.

I finally saw THE SOCIAL NETWORK and my is it fascinating. It's just so interesting. And of course the reality of it didn't look this good or seem this interesting but wow what a great film. I definitely predict oscar nominations. There hasn't been much this year.

Been hearing that movie is good, maybe I'll catch that before it leaves the theater, or has it.

Toy Story 3. Borrowed it from the neighbor kids as I am #300 at the library for it. Such a good film! Best of the 3, easily. Ending was sweet and I can get why people cried, but I only got a slight bit teary-eyed.
Press today is so concerned with cool vs. not cool that they're starting to forget good vs. bad. I'm not sure I'll ever be "cool", but I will always tirelessly strive to be "great". - Josh Groban

Back to the Future - Great fun, and the picture quality on Blu-ray is amazing throughout, but the character of George McFly really stood out this time like never before. The moment when he gives it to Biff, the look on George's face, making his fist, has never been as powerful on previous viewings before (in my eyes anyway). Got thru the new bonus features too. Best moment for me was seeing a clip of Drew Struzan discussing his involvement creating the posters. I'm a huge fan of Drew!!
