Looks good enough, but I feel like the make up needs a bit more defining to give him a more 'Walt Disney' feel to him. Although I absolutely love the background cast's clothes.

Re: First Image of Tom Hanks as Walt Disney

I was waiting with baited breath ... as the website loaded (from another discussion board) ... and my reaction was - We'll never have an actor who can pull off Walt's look. I don't see Walt there. I see Tom Hanks.

I was hoping for Jean Dujardin instead. Oh well. Hopefully it's in Hank's acting skills that can pull off Walt. If not his looks.

If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

Exactly right. The buzzfeed piece linked to by the OP is hardly the "first image" of Hanks as Walt. Eight months ago on MiceAge, Fishbulb posted this and other photos of Hanks taken at the movie shoot at Disneyland:

"With the acquisition of Marvel and now of Lucasfilm,
Disney may have finally found the grail. You don't need
imagination or art. All you need is a brand."

Right down to the Smoke Tree Ranch symbol on his tie. Looking forward to seeing this.

Either that's some really good guest control or they must have shot that scene at 6am. I can't wait for the film's release and I'm certain that the big wow to come out of it will be Tom's recreation of Walt through his acting.

My question is, how will Jason Schwartzman be as Richard Sherman??

Looks like he can walk the walk, but we'll have to wait and see if he can talk the talk.

By the way has anybody seen the picture of the Mickey costume they're using for this movie? Gave my robotic legs a shiver.

Footage has appeared on Entertainment Tonight, skip to the 6:30 mark. Looks like the Disneyland footage needs some work in the Fantasyland sections...

The "Walt Disney character" in Vacation was the great Eddie Bracken:

Tomorrowland_1967, I've actually thought a lot about who could play Walt. My brother even came up with an idea for a biopic about him and we considered casting options. I'm convinced that Edward Norton would make a great Walt Disney. Check out these images of Ed and Walt (just imagine Ed without the soul patch). He could definitely pull off the look of young Walt and with makeup could be made to look older and he's a skilled enough actor to get his voice and mannerisms down, I think. Much better than the sub-par job Tom Hanks seems to have done with it, unfortunately.

Ed even has a similarly shaped face and similar teeth to Walt as well. It would be incredible if someone else made a movie featuring Walt and used Ed Norton.
Words any Disney fan and especially Disney employee should live by:

"Disneyland is a work of love. We didn't go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money."
    -Walt Disney

"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."
    -Walt Disney

"I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things."
    -Walt Disney

"We did it, Disneyland, in the knowledge that most of the people I talked to thought it would be a financial disaster - closed and forgotten within the first year."
    -Walt Disney

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."
    -Walt Disney

"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."
    -Walt Disney
