Re: Disney Dining Experience/ Best Resteraunts

When we ate at Hollywood and Vine (an excellent non character buffet, btw) we were asked at the podium if we wanted the Fantasmic package. We agreed, seeing how we weren't sure we wanted to wait an hour to see Fantasmic. However, when I gave the waitress the DDE card, she said they didn't accept any discounts with the Fatasmic package. We wound up getting the discount and the package (and not using those seats anyway) but keep in mind that they might not offer the DDE and Fantasmic together.

Also, if you're staying at a resort that does not have a full service restaurant, such as the French Quarter and the value resorts, you can use the DDE there as well. That's how we wound up breaking even, since we stayed at the French Quarter twice and the discounts for the food court for breakfast and the occassional dinner really put us ahead of the game.

Also, keep in mind the Animal Kingdom, since there are no full service restaurants (Rainforest CAfe doesn't accept DDE) offers the Discount at mostof its counter service restaurants.

Sorry for the long post, but I was sceptical of the DDE at first too, but I am definitely going to do it again in February when mine expires. For $50 as an AP, it's a pretty good deal.

^^^DDE is a GREAT deal. I just stayed at FQ and used it for at least 1-2 meals a day at the food court. I think it saved me $30 on dinner at California Grill.

I have had it since the program started in 1995 and it is a great program, both for Disney which gets more money from people like me to dine at its restaurants and for individuals who can make Disney's prices a bit more reasonable.

We just got back from the FQ too. Maybe we passed each other unknowingly.
