Wilderness Lodge rooms - can I request a room?

    Hi guys,

I haven't been to WDW since 1981 when I was 11. Now I'm returning with my family, for the week between Christmas and New Year's. I know, I know, the BUSIEST time of the year (and most expensive).
Anyway, we're booked into the Wilderness Lodge, and at the time that I booked online, I didn't specify a room other than a bunk bed room.
My question is: can I call WDW and ask for a particular room ahead of time, or just hope for the best?

    Thanks!

You can request, but as with views and types of rooms, it's all up to availability. However, I've never had a problem with getting what I requested.

Well i havent tried it at WDW but when i stayed at the Grand Californian, the CM said that you can call and request rooms by number! so if theres a room youve stayed in before you can request it again.Just call and ask, the worst they can do is say no

I don't remember the room number, but the view that overlooked the pool area was gorgeous at night. I would highly recommend asking them to stay in a room that overlooked the pool.

I loved the room we were in... don't remember the number but it was on the ground floor overlooking the grassy courtyard. Felt very secluded and peaceful. We even saw bunnies!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Re: Wilderness Lodge rooms - can I request a room?

Requesting a specific room number is a very ineffective way to request a room. Chances are, that exact room will already be occupied on your arrival day. The rooms CM will have no way to kow why you requested that specific room number. Is is your lucky number? Is it a room you stayed in previously? Is it the number you played in the lottery to win the money for the trip? Like I said, no way for the rooms assigner to know.

The best advice is to use words to request what you want, such as overlooking a pool or near transportation or such. That way, the rooms CM can know what you want and will be in a better position to help you.

You want to have your request put on your reservation, so call the res center 047-W-Disney. Keep in mind if you've booked a standard room you cannot request a Savannah View room. You would have to pay the difference in price for those rooms. If you've booked a standard room & want to try for an upgrade to a Savannah, that has to be done at the resort, and there is no guarantee you will get it without paying more money unless they have a surplus of those rooms available and you get just the right CM in the right mood that day....
