Buying Tickets Vs Buying an AP

Ok, here's the deal. We are going to WDW for 3 days in Aug and 3 days in Oct. I found a GREAT deal online for a 3 day parkhopper, with free upgrade to a 6 day and a no expiration as well. It's perfect for the 6 days we'll be in the park.

But I figured I'd check and see how much the AP was and it turns out it's just $100 more.

So I'm wondering if it's worth it...
We will PROBABLY go again next year before it expires but that's not a given.
Also, Jeff has an AP and he's renewing it even if I don't get one, so I can use his discounts and such.

Do you think getting an AP is worth it or should I stick with just tickets?

If you're going to use it again I would say that it is worth it...

I would not spend $100 more unless you are certain you will be using the AP before it expires. Would make no sense to do so. However, if your dates fall into any AP discounts being offered for the resorts, it may pay for itself. Check it out carefully all ways or have your travel agent do it for you. You could possibly save over the $100 with a passholder discount....

Having an AP is a great excuse to go back

6 days for the price of 3 sounds like a great deal to me. Care to share the link with us?

The OP already stated that "Jeff" (husband? boyfriend?) has an AP, so they can use that for the discounts.

As Lindsy said, it simply comes down to whether or not you're going to use the AP again next year. For me, purchasing an AP just about guarantees that I'll be going again next year. After all, I've gotta get all the value I can out of the thing, don't I?

But if one of us has the ap already, would we need another, since we'd be staying in the same room?

It's a link that's only available through the mousesavers newsletter. You have to sign up to get it.

Sorry, jeff is yoyoflamingo, my husband. Most people on MC know that and it is just weird to say either of those since he's on the board and reading it lol

His AP is almost expired but he's going to renew anyway. I think he just feels better having one. But I guess we'd need to get tickets no matter who had one.

The thing is that I'll not have much vacation time next year (I'l likely have a new job) and we're going on our honeymoon cruise in the summer so that will eat up vaca time and money, so we can't go next summer. So I really have NO IDEA if we'll make it back before it expires. Bleh.
