    Boardwalk or Polynesian?

We're planning to do a trip to WDW sometime next summer and we're trying to decide which resort to stay at. I've actually stayed at both, but sunnygirl and the Jr. Miss haven't and neither has really ever been to WDW before. The Jr. Miss will be 14 and won't need any kids activiites.

I really enjoy both resorts and they both have their definite plusses.

    It's a total toss-up.

I mean, Boardwalk you can walk/boat to EPCOT and DHS. There are plenty of other hotels and mini-golf in the area for the non-park times.

The Poly however is connected to the MK by both boat and Monorail, and a short walk to the EPCOT monorail. Lot's of activities on the lake and easy access to the other MK resorts.

However, due to the age of Jr. Miss, I would presume that the MK is probably the park you'll spend the least amount of time at?

How long are you planning on staying? Perhaps split your time between the two?

I'll vote when I've given it more thought.

We're planning for over a week stay. If the Jr. Miss has her way, we'd be at Animal Kingdom the entire time I think , if sunnyg has her way we'd be at the MK. If I picked, we'd be at Epcot. I'm leaning towards Boardwalk personally, since the advantage of the Poly is MK and I can see us not spending more than a day and a half there.

Boardwalk here! You can walk/boat to EPCOT and DHS, but you can also walk to the monorail to Magic Kingdom from EPCOT. And if you can get the right room, you can watch Illuminations from your room.

Poly would be fun and nice, but...I don't know, I just loved Boardwalk.

Two great choices. Comes down to personal preference. Mine would be the Boardwalk. For a lot of the same reasons stated above, but also for the activity. You can just walk out on the Boardwalk and something is always going on. You have the Atlantic Dane Hall, ESPN Club and my favorite Jelly Rolls. You can walk across the bridge to the Beach Club to one of my favorite Ice Cream Parlors....Beaches & Cream where you can get all the old fashioned soda, etc.

The Boarwalk is awesome in my opinion! It is in a great spot, with Two theme parks extremely close, the actual Boarwalk with restaurants and clubs, close to the monorail, Close to Mini-Golf, shorter bus ride to DD and the waterparks. You are pretty mich in the center of the World.

I have stayed at the Polynesian, but I still like the Boarwalk a lot more.

My friends swear by the Boardwalk. They've gotten nothing but great service and upgrades without asking. Then again they go in January/February so maybe it's different than summertime.

I've never stayed at either, but I've been around both. Polynesian's theming is AMAZING though! So beautiful. But if you are going for proximity to all the parks besides MK, then Boardwalk makes sense.

Polynesian for the theming, Electrical Water Pageant, and Ohana's.

    Re: Boardwalk or Polynesian?

First let me say that the thought of you guys planning a trip this way makes me very excited... as long as we don't meet up for any Rainforest breakfast redos.

That being said, both resorts obviously have their perks so it really does come down to a personal prefference on which things you want to be closest to. For me, if I had to choose only one from those two, it would be Boardwalk. The easy access to Epcot (my favorite park) as well as the DHS and the dining and entertainment options right there at the Boardwalk are seal the deal. I mean, you can always pop over to the Poly for a dinner at Ohana if you just want to experience that resort. That's just where I would lean though, it really comes down to what you (you meaning Sunnyg of course) want out of the trip.

Boardwalk, no doubt! It's by far my favorite, due to the great location, theming, surrounding area, etc.

These are my FAVORITE Resorts. It all depends upon your focus being on just the parks or the entire resort. One places you next to MK and TTC to Epcot and the Boardwalk places you right next to Epcot and a boat-ride away from Studios.
