![]() | Re: Yeti Problems...A big "uh-oh"? I'm a WDW annual passholder whose last ride on EE was the first weekend in August. As of then, I believe it was in B mode, as I remember a seizure-inducing strobe light effect as we zoomed past. It wasn't as dramatic as the original yeti, but nothing worth closing the ride down over. As long as the ride can run smoothly with no possibly critically damaging effects to the riders, I say just leave things be until the yeti can be fixed and up and running. I'm 15, and as any normal teen would tell you, EE is the major drawing point of the park at this time. Whenever we go to Disney, we're at Animal Kingdom for a few hours (if that) and we usually just stop by and grab fast passes for EE, stop by Dinosaur, eat a quick bite, and by the time we've treked all over the park to do this, it's time for the passes, we ride and leave. OR we just take the single rider way out, and talk to some friendly people to pass the time. Honestly, if it weren't for EE, I doubt we'd be at the park even this long. We go with my mom, elderly grandparents, and usually a friend. My grandparents aren't the toughest out there - they don't think it's worth it to drag all over the park in 100+ degree weather (most of the time - even in winter that place is pretty warm), and honestly, if we wanted to see animals we'd stay in Jacksonville and go to the zoo. They make for a nice effect, but they're not the "be-all and end-all" at the park, as that phrase seems to have made itself prominent in this thread. My mom isn't going to insist on going either, as the weather is bad, and she has proven time and time again that she will be puking for 3 hours after riding EE. It's usually my friend and I that will insist we just drop by to ride EE, eat, and leave. Honestly, there's not too much (IMHO) to do at the park, which was honestly in need of a thrill ride, which we were given. The park itself, if given due time, isn't bad. I've spent the whole day, opening to closing, at the park - it's not torture. It's just not a park you NEED an entire day to enjoy, which is a bit of a flaw. Even MGM Stu- sorry, Hollywood Studios, could take a whole day once you factor in Rockin' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror waits, and that spiffy new Toy Story ride, which IMO IS worth the time. It's fun, and the inside is air-conditioned. Can't go wrong! And I'm especially excited about the American Idol attraction, but that's a different story for another thread. Long story short, (it's a little too late for that, but...) Animal Kingdom needs improvements, but it's not at it's worst case scenario.
