"Monsters Inc Sequel Roller Coaster Ride Coming Soon?"

I'm assuming it will find a place at either Disneyland or Walt Disney World but I've haven't heard anything about this on here or maybe I missed it when it was reported.

MTV news talked about the ideas of Monsters Inc sequel storylines with the film's director and this is what he had to say...

“We’ve thought about it,” “Monsters, Inc.” director Pete Doctor told MTV News about the possibility for a sequel. “We’ve got a couple ideas.”
In the moment, those ideas are being filtered into a “Monsters, Inc” roller-coaster at the Walt Disney Resorts, which should open in a couple of years.

Interesting. So what do you think about a new roller coaster ride coming to the "Walt Disney Resorts"?

This has been in the cards for quite awhile now. Part of a bigger plan for the Hollywood Studios park that involve other attractions not just Pixar.

Watching the door sequence from the end of the film, it almost screamed to be a ride from day one. It only surprises me that they waited so long.

Re: "Monsters Inc Sequel Roller Coaster Ride Coming Soon?"

There was an article on the Jim Hill site recently stating that a MI roller coaster would be built at DHS. We've known for some time that a Wild Mouse coaster would be coming to DHS...just not which movie it would be based on. We had heard about Cars and even Ratatouille (the latter which I thought highly unlikely). Sounds like they've settled on MI.

I just hope it's not another wild mouse-type roller coaster.

Re: "Monsters Inc Sequel Roller Coaster Ride Coming Soon?"

From Jim Hill who posted this story on July 20th:

Disney's Hollywood Studios is actually getting the attraction that theme park enthusiasts have been itching for ever since "Monsters, Inc." opened back in November of 2001. DHS will be soon be home to an inverted coaster that recreates the Door Hangar sequence from that Pete Docter film.
