I'll ignore the "stupid British" comment.
Now then do they make an Obama and a McCain AA?

No, no, it's gotta be Pooh for President like in the 70s!
I like The Happiest Millionaire. What's wrong with that?

I wish they would close this show for good. In the past, it was an admirable show to watch especially when guests behaved and held their applause until the end of the show, but now? It's a political rally where fans of this or that president cheer for their affiliation candidates. I think it's shameful what this show had become and should no longer be offered as an attraction.

The rumor is that they will put an AA of the next president in the attraction, but they might not talk (if their approval rating goes down, like Bush). Only Abe might talk when the Hall of Presidents reopens. Think of it as an expanded version of Great Moments w/ Mr. Lincoln.

Agreed. I can't stand the popularity contest it has become. I wish people would behave in this more like the American Adventure, where no one applauds or cheers for their favorite patriotic figure.

Although, a lot depends on the crowd. Last time I saw it, no one applauded, and I was so relieved. However, I don't like to take the gamble usually.

I was last (and only time) at the resort in 1991 and saw this then. At that time it was respectful. I didn't realize it had turned into this. That is very sad.

American politics has turned nasty so they're making changes. I've heard the same, that the current presidents will no longer talk and it will go back to being President Lincoln carrying all of the show.

Politics has always been nasty, since the start of the country. The problem is that WDI underestimated the immaturity and incivility of the common WDW guest.

They have to add Obama though. He has the highest chances of winning the election, and it's significant since he'll be the first black president and nominee of a major party and all. Even if he doesn't speak. Although I doubt this because he has proven to be a powerful, inspiring speaker...so It'd be a loss if they didn't let the Obama AA say a few words. Who knows, maybe Obama can actually liven up H.O.P?

But if McCain miraculously wins in November and they give him an AA? Yawn.

(Tongue in cheek) Well, you've got Goofy in charge at the moment!

For me the Hall of Presidents is a good place to go snooze for 20 minutes in fabulous air conditioning. I've seen the old show (with several President updaTes too many times)and its way to long winded and I have to say just having Lincoln do his bit would be more appealing. The Lincoln at DL was superb where you wear the special surround sound headphones. When the barber is cutting your hair you can practically feel the scissors and comb. Maybe they have something like that planned.

Oh god no! The surround sound headphones, while technologically nice don't fit with GMWL or HOP.

If you're looking for an attraction based around surround sound headphones there's always "Sounds Dangerous" at DHS.

They only need to make one AA, because the other guy doesn't stand a chance of actually being elected. Of course, a few people may disagree on which is which...

Truth be told, I strongly preferred the old version of the attractions where Lincoln was the sole speaker (and the original narration/editing was actually superior to the current 'improved' version). I have no objection to the current President (or any others, I suppose) speaking regardless of who they may be, but again, I would be perfectly happy with the original show, edited only to include the new President in the roll call.

I saw it over the last holiday season and everyone was respectful. I'm glad it's getting a refurb.
