Which Hotel to stay at???

So I am planning a little R&R. looking at coming down 10/1 to 10/5.

So where should I stay:

Coronado
Caribbean
Port Orleans
Riverside
Pop Century

I am trying to keep it moderately priced with a 5day PH no exp.

Obviously Pop Century is going to give me the best rates, but I am still not sure I want to stay there... Coronado Springs looks very nice, but all they are giving me on the site are suites????

Port Orleans looks nice...

Can anyone give me some info on these places?

well do what ever looks nice I say if your going to stay in style all those besides the pop is your best bet. Im staying at pop, but trying to save some bucks. if your going moderate I say go in style Have a great trip!!

Coronado is great, in my opinion better than Riverside/French side.

French Quarter. It's a smaller moderate, so less walking. However, if you really want to relax, Riverside has the most peaceful atmosphere of any of the moderates.

The more I keep looking at the hotels, I actually keep leaning toward the Pop Century... Here's why...

Whenever I am in disney, I am never in my room. I get up in the morning, and go. The next time I am in my room is when I pass out at night... So to pay extra money per night for a room that I am hardly going to be in, doesn't seem worth it.

As nice as the Coronado looks, or the Port Orleans or Riverside, or any of the moderates, to spend another $300 to $400 for some thematic elements doesnt seem justifiable to me...

WOW!! I guess I answered my own question!!!

So now... Has anyone had any hands on with the Pop Century? What building will keep me the closest to the Disney Transportation?

60s is the closest, but they charge more (I think about $25 a day) to stay in a "preferred location."

My next WDW vacation is going to be at Pop Century. A lot of MiceChatters have stayed there, and have all given it good reviews. I am leaning toward requesting a room in the 50's section, having grown up during those years.

I have stayed in all the moderates, except the French Quarter. However, I have walked over there, when we were staying at Riverside. All of the moderates were great.

Have a great trip. Mine won't be until April of next year.

So now... Has anyone had any hands on with the Pop Century? What building will keep me the closest to the Disney Transportation?

I've stayed at Pop, oh..5 times now. The preferred rooms are located amongst the 60's (buildings 4 and 5), 70's (building 0 and 6) and 50's (buildings 1, 2 and 3). The problem I have with those locations is you have to pay extra for the preferred room. When you can simply add a request for a location to a standard room and will be pretty close to Classic Hall.

My recommendation is for you to ask for a room in the 70's building 0 when you book your trip. The reason I say this is b/c not all the rooms in the this building are preferred. You are really close to Classic Hall and the bus stop. Lastly, and my biggest reason, the 70's is the only location that does not have a pool between the buildings. This greatly reduces the noise at night and during the afternoon.
