    Those dreaded cheerleaders

Hi folks, as the title indicates, I have a question about avoiding the cheerleader competitions when visiting WDW. If a cheerleader competition is announced for a given day, do the cheerleaders stick around for many days before or after? Also, if there is a competition in another part of the state (like Miami), do they still descend on WDW en masse? Any advice is much appreciated; thank you.

First question.... absolutely yes. Second question, no. So if the competition in on property, they will be here for several days, not just the day of competition. If the competition is elsewhere.... they won't be at WDW.

OK, thanks. I found a schedule online, and noticed that the competitions are all scheduled on weekends (which makes sense). There is one in Orlando that is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6; I would assume that if we show up the following Monday, we will enjoy cheerleader free parks?

I made the mistake of going during a cheerleading event and I have to say, never again. The girls (and especially their parents) are rude, obnoxious and add a most annoying element to not just the park, but all of the rides. It ruined our entire trip.

The highlight was some mom watching a replay of her kid's performance on her video camera with the sound on full blast in the library of Tower of Terror. When I said, "could you please turn that off", she told me to "mind my own F*$#ing business."

Cheerleaders and Brazillian tour groups. Mix them together and you'll have very loud and obnoxious experiences visiting WDW. Avoid WDW like the plague during those times.

I've been twice during the Pop Warner events and didn't have any issues. Perhaps, I've been very lucky. Next trip is December 6-14th, so we'll see.....
