Why is There No Single admission to Adventurers Club?

So, in all my research it never occurred to me to ask... Usually PI is included in my ticket.

But I wanted to go just to say goodbye to the Adventures Club. I had no interest in any other club. I thought I'd just buy a one club ticket. Except you CAN'T. You HAVE to buy a multi-club ticket and at $21.95 each, it was quite expensive compared to $10.95 for single admission.

I understand that AC and the Comedy Warehouse have more to offer than just the clubs but why can't they have their own single admission for, say, $15 or so?

BTW I know that this is a moot point and doesn't matter anymore, but it made me sad to not get to go. If I was by myself I would have bitten the bullet and done it, but going w/someone who might not like it and want to go before we even saw a show... it was just too much for 2 people

I don't know. I thought the same thing. We did go ahead and get tickets for the evening and now I am glad we did because of the closing.

Still, as much as I would love to go one more time, we probably won't because it is expensive.

Re: Why is There No Single admission to Adventurers Club?

I don't think $22 for Adventurer's Club is expensive at all. You get a hell of a great show for that price and you can stay as long as you like.

Bite the bullet and go. You said you'd be willing to pay $15, what's $7 more? A cocktail? One less cocktail then.

I understand about your companion maybe not liking it but it's the rare person that doesn't. Over the years I found myself trying to describe the experience to skeptical friends and they wound up completely loving it, never knowing that something so original and unique was at Pleasure Island. It's well worth the $22. Go for it!

(and if they don't like it, they can move on to other clubs while you stay behind and say your goodbyes.)

Re: Why is There No Single admission to Adventurers Club?

Simple answer these are the only two clubs that are "Family Friendly" and allow children into the clubs, they are both (although I think AC is much more than this) basically "comedy clubs".

So basically in order of most to least expensive they offer A Multi Club ticket for all clubs except for AC/CC, A multi Club for the Comedy Clubs, and Single Club tickets for everything but the Comedy clubs. When you look at it that way it makes sence... sortta...

Careful now don't let the Colonel hear that, the only way they can wake him up is with free drinks!

You know it's been so long since the last time I paid a cover charge outside of PI I have no idea what the standard is these days... How much is it to get into a high end club in NYC, LA, or Vegas these days?

Re: Why is There No Single admission to Adventurers Club?

Well, I would have paid 2 admissions so it was a bit more than $22. When i lived in CA, I'd go to clubs and never paid more than $15, for a cover or to see a live act. MAYBE I paid $20 once or twice. And my husband wouldn't have gone to another club - he's not the club type! I would have just left with him.

We won't be back before it closes, unfortunately

So it's roughly in line then, I asked a friend of mine in Manhattan this weekend and she said for guys it could be about $20-30 or more if they go alone, a lot more if they are not on the list and have to bribe the bouncer a couple c bills to get in. (A couple 20's apparently doesn't cut it these days...so glad I'm not still single!)

I was at a local sports bar and they had a Band playing and where charging a cover after 8pm of $8 for a local no name band. So for quality entertainment $22 is really not a lot to pay guys...

Just an unrelated FYI - the Adventurer's Club is selling collectible (plastic) glasses when you purchase a specialty drink. I think there's 5 total glasses - with images of the masks and other well known icons.

Re: Why is There No Single admission to Adventurers Club?

Not to speak for Jarren, Yoyo, but I don't see where there's an attack. You guys chose not to go. Nothin' wrong with that. The way I read it the posts are simply pointing out that the entertainment value for the cost is well worth it.

A fun, funny, and entertaining night of interactive theatre? It's awesome. I'm gonna miss the AC.

Re: Why is There No Single admission to Adventurers Club?

I don't see an attack either. Sorry Yoyo.

But I would agree with a lesser price for just one club. But at the same time, $22...I'd do it. Well worth it. Although I do understand if it's not in the budget....

Whoa! I'm confused... ok I'll grant you that's not a news flash there , but now more so than normal.

And YoYo you've know me how long? I'd never attack you intentionally... I was simply stating how I didn't think $22 was that bad for a club these days compared to what a friend told me about the covers in NYC... Honestly I have no idea how that's an attack... except maybee an attack on our wallets!
