Let me put this in perspective for you folks... (yes I love to compare with TDR...)
At those discounted prices, you would not be allowed to set foot on any of the hotels on property so YES, they are a great deal when priced against TDR's resorts...

BUT!! the value price of $59 plus tax for one night at the Pop is almost $10 more that what it would currently cost you to buy a 1-day passport to either TDL or TDS. How much is the 1-day ticket to any of the WDW parks, with tax? (1-day to TDR: 5,800 yen INCLUDING tax)

A 4-day passport to TDR is almost $25 cheaper than the discounted price for one night at DAKL. How much is the 4-day passport at WDW, without add ons?? (4-day passport at TDR 15,000 yen with tax included)

For the 100,000,000,000,000,000eleventy-oneth time, Tokyo does it better.

Ahhh....had you been one of our clients you would have been switched over as soon as the discount came out. One advantage to booking with a travel agency that specializes in Disney...we watch for the discounts daily.

Call back and see if they can switch you over to the special. I've still been able to book people on it...

Yup, Southwest... we just flew for $220 each, holiday weekend.
Gumball rally will be $188 each PLUS we have an additional $50 credit each - so far. The prices can still go down.

If you're lucky enough to have a low cost carrier near you you can still get good deals. Of course, this close to the deal, it might be hard to get discount airfare.

Re: New Discount released....

So this means if a rate comes out during the invasion, and we booked through Magical Travel, we will get the discount if it's better than what we're payign already?

Sweet!

It depends as each agency has different rules, Some charge a fee, some simply will not bother with it, but at Magical Travel we do it automatically for you for free. As well as free Itinerary planning, booking all your reservations and meals, special events, etc. and will happily answer any and all questions on the phone and even make suggestions and help you plan a magical vacation that is customized to your needs and desires. Its all free to you, part of the service.

I'm so sorry to have to tell you this but I'm afraid you'll have to call your agent and ask them if they would rebook at the discount rate and if they change you for it. Since we are an earmarked agency that specializes in Disney travel and work directly with the Walt Disney Travel Agency we are not charged for changes like this and we do it as a courtesy for our clients.

So good luck, I hope you can take advantage of this great offer and if you cannot give us a call next time we'd be delighted to take care of you.

Again.. YOU MISSED the point as usual, which was.. that one aspect of your vacation is highly discounted, while they still get you on another aspect of it. I used TDR to illustrate that...where ticket prices are much lower than those offered at WDW, but the hotels at TDR will cost you an arm and a leg. Opposite effect on WDW. So please, next time, stop and try to see the point of my comparison before coming to the broad conclusion that all I am doing is telling everyone that "Tokyo does it better" because that is not what I am trying to say. If I wanted to say that, then I would have used DLR since they usually does things better there all around over WDW.

True. We could complain all we want about how the discount doesnt really help people during the economic crunch we're in now. But WDW hotels (even the deluxe hotels) are still cheaper than nearly all of the hotels at the other resorts. The lowest price for a standard room at deluxe resorts such as Wilderness or Animal Kingdom Lodges are around $215 a night. That's impressively low compared to staying at the cheapest rooms in Disneyland and far cheaper than any of the rooms in Tokyo Disney.

Well... I think most of it also has to do with local economies.. I mean, it's no secret the cost of living in LA is more than in Central FL. Here, they must do anything they can to fill in their huge property with low cost offers... and current times only illustrate what I feel has been WDW's problem since Michael Eisner took over: WDW has become overbuilt and saturated, reason why they are slashing costs to appeal to the tourists. I guess it must be desperate times for them..

Re: New Discount released....

The differences there stem from the massively different hotel market between Tokyo and Orlando. Both are doing what they need to in order to compete in their respective hotel markets. There couldn't be a starker contrast between the hotel markets of Tokyo and Orlando, and WDW has to compete in hotel price wars that Tokyo's hotels does not, lest WDW loses marketshare. So how does WDW make that up? Ticket prices become higher than what's seen in TDR.

You're putting WDW in a no-win situation. Either they're overcharging for a sub-par product, or they're slashing costs to appeal to the tourists. So either way, that logic paints WDW as either mean and ridiculous for overcharging, or desperate for slashing costs. I'm not quite sure what WDW could do to please here. They have to compete in the broader, and the smaller markets that they compete in. That's what this discount is all about.
