MNSSHP pics

My wife and I attended the first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party of the season last Friday. Some pictures:

We were both mobbed by people wanting photographs with us. My costume was more eye-grabbing (especially later in the night with the lights on) so I got a bit more attention, but the people who DID realize who Christa was absolutely flipped out over her costume. One girl chased her down across the park's central hub to get a picture.

The Hatbox Ghost returns - the butler greeting people at the gate was ready with a quiet "we've missed you" as I passed him.

Christa with her portrait, inside the mansion.

Rolling in with the fog at the graveyard.

Once it got dark enough, it was time to turn on the lights I'd rigged up to poke through the back of the hatbox and give my costume a little extra something.

Christa poses with her hero. As far as I know, the Halloween party is the only time you can meet Maleficent (Mistress of All Evil).

Welcome, foolish mortals...

With a Halloween decoration. Perhaps obviously.

Slightly photoshopped so you can see the Mansion better, but not much!

Those costumes are AMAZING !!! You both look incredible and the detail is just fantastic. Well done, well done indeed. IMHO you should be a regular part of the event.

BTW - How did you know the HM was my all time favorite attraction and the hatbox ghost was my all time favorite HM character.

The event was fun. The parade is definitely the highlight (we watched it both times). The fireworks are nice too, though I get a little weary of the over-produced, super hipped-up versions of songs from Disney movies (does anyone not cringe at the pop-screaming of "Poor Unfortunate Souls!"). The Villains mix and mingle is so surreal (and weirdly sexual) that I enjoyed it.

The most fun we had, really, though was getting to interact with other guests and cast members. I think I would've been slightly disappointed in the party if I hadn't been hamming it up in costume.

Great costumes!!!

I have to ask - how was the weather? I'm going to the party on the 31st, and I was afraid that it would be too hot for something as elaborate as your awesome HBG costume! The idea of wearing makeup under the FL sun kinda scares me.

Thanks, and once again, awesome costumes!

I was worried about this as well, and we both wound up being much more comfortable than we expected to be. There was a brief rain storm before the party and the temperature dropped a lot when the sun set. It wasn't bad at all. I think we were just lucky.

Look at the fourth picture down. See the stretching room portrait above Christa? That's who she's dressed as.

We only got to see the stand-up cards from the train. We meant to make a full loop of the park and come back to do Alice's Treat Trail, but the train stopped in Frontierland and never left again. Consequently, we never made it all the way back to Toon Town.

Really, you can get as much or as little candy as you want. We weren't that interested in the treats, really, and only got a few. The treat areas are worth hitting once since there are some fun decorations. If you wanted to, you could just hit them over and over again. We were more into viewing the Halloween party events and decorations and people in costume.

A nice treat surprise was that they were handing out fancy Giradello half-bars at the exit when we left.
