Howdy.

Long time no post, eh?

Well, I'm back, sort of, for a brief post of some pictures from Friday, September 5th. I knew I was going to be in Florida for work, but I had no idea that I would be able to squeeze in any time for a theme park visit. Because of this I did not take my normal camera equipment with me. The following pictures were taken with a Canon PowerShot A570 IS. Overall I am OK with the quality of the pictures, but I wish I had my Nikon with me.

I originally did not plan on going to any WDW parks when I was in Florida. My AP expired in May and I did not plan on renewing it until the MC Invasion in October. I then remembered that the MNSSHP's were starting ridiculously early this year and by luck they were having one on the Friday I was there. While I refuse to pay the daily admission fee to a park, I have no problem paying $50 or so for one of the hard ticket events. I know many other MC'ers loathe the parties, but I enjoy them immensely. The short or non-existent lines and the atmosphere of the party make it all worth while.

So, enough with the words, on to the pictures!

This display is at near the TTC ticket booths as you head towards the monorail or ferry.





A new outdoor vending location. I was somewhat surprised by this.










I'm not sure what to think about the new tower. I don't hate it, but I don't think I like it either.










The costumes for CM's working the event were quite colorful.

For those that don't know, the party officially starts at 7 p.m., but they will start letting people in as early as 4. So, $50 for 8 hours of light crowds or no crowds at all is a bargain.

Welcome to the first MNSSHP of the year! The orangeness of the decor is lost in this picture. You really need to see it in person. It is very vibrant.















The clock tower has returned and it looks fantastic.





The residents of Halloween Kingdom are back.


































4 pm. Magic Kingdom. Where are the crowds? I don't know, but I don't care.








During the party I rode the TTA a few times. Each time I went through SM there were no lines for the ride. No lines at all. No one. Not a soul. It was COOL!





Something is different here. I have tried to get this shot in the past, but something was always blocking me. I'm trying to think if it was a trash can, but whatever it was in the past it was not there today.

Look at the photo again. It's between the monorail station and the ferryboat dock at the TTC.

The new (rebuilt) bridge from the hub area to Liberty Square.





Yet another ODV location. I liked the benches that used to occupy this space.

Ah....the HM. I wish they would refurb the DL version. The difference in quality is amazing.





Nuggets, not strips...





Since there was NO line at all, I decided to ride Splash Mountain. Several water fixtures in the laughing place scene were inop, but overall the ride was in great shape.





The sun was pretty low in the sky, so the color saturation was impressive.





I don't think I ever took any pictures of the carrousel horses at the MK before, so here ya go.










No crowds...





A perfect photo op if a certain club ever makes it to FL at the same time.

Great Pics. I can't wait for Disneyland to have all the decorations up and ready. I'm not going to go to the park until after they unveil Holiday Haunted Mansion.

So many tourists at the MK!





I know, you're thinking, "huh?" This was the first time I have been on the TTA when it stopped. I was so excited I took a pic. I know, I'm a geek.





Why won't they put benches in the hub? All they care about is viewing for Wishes.










A hub sculpture was missing. If I was truly a Disney geek I could tell you which one.





No MK TR is complete without a castle pic. You can see the holiday lights already hanging on one of the towers. That's not a complaint. The effect is sooooooo worth all the time and energy they put into hanging the lights.





A Dole Whip float. The Dole Whip in CA tastes different than in CA. It just does.





Only ghosts in line for the HM.





A mysterious fog descends upon the HM.

This picture looks like it could be a painting! You've got the father/daughter, the CM with the balloons, perfect shot with the castle in the distance. Love it!

These signs indicated a Trick-or-treat location. They were somewhat stingy on the candy this year, but that's not a big deal. You can always get in line again.





The line for Peter Pan. Let me repeat that. The line for Peter Pan!










The line for Dumbo is now covered and it has a few playthings for the kids waiting in line.

A very, very random picture.





SM was quite dirty. I was surprised, because WDW usually keeps it pretty clean.

























Well, that's it for the pics. It was nice not carrying around a big camera. I also watched Hallowishes without worrying about pictures. It was wonderful.
