Automated Tour Guides Possible for DHS Backlot Tour

An interesting item just posted at Screamscape indicates that they are testing a new 'Tour Guide-less' Backlot Tram tour (similar to The Land automated guide system I would guess). Anybody else hear of this?

And, better yet, could this be the first step in the rumored move to eventually eliminate the Backlot Tour in favor of an expanded Pixar Land?

I'm all for an upgrade on that attraction, regardless. It's long over due for an overhaul, although I don't like that they are removing the people aspect, I'll take any change as long as it's for the better. LOL

*struggles to find loop joke that isn't hoary and corny*

"Jerren threw the thread for a loop" (nope, too lame)
"these conversations keep looping back in upon themselves" (even lamer)

Sounds like we all could use a "Disney" day.

Back on topic, I will reserve my overall opinion until after I've experienced any said, hypothetical changes on TGMR.

Summer - don't you think that Tower of Terror could use a loop? Then you can sit in the front seat, just to make sure the finger wells are easily accessible.

The only thing left that could possibly make the current backlot tour less interesting is the removal of the human tourguides.

Re: Automated Tour Guides Possible for DHS Backlot Tour

Why on earth would they even consider removing the guides? As my wife and I was floating through the land a week ago I was seriously missing a live person guiding us through the loop. It seems a whole lot less personal now.
With that aside, the Backlot Tour does need serious help. I don't know if it is because a good third (?) of the attraction is now covered by LMA or what, but it seems less enjoyable to me. Taking the tour guides away is just spelling the end.
He felt like his life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.

Well now don't forget the creepy CM that sits in front of the computer monitor so he can ensure he opens the doors to the greenhouse at just the right moment. I try and wave to them to just make them feel better that they get noticed. LOL
