    Fantasmic! at WDW vs. DL

I'll be going to WDW in January and am trying to decide what to do while I'm there. Fantasmic! was something I was considering but I'm wondering how different it is from the DL version. Has anyone here seen both and can comment on that?

    Thanks so much!

Thanks for the video but I don't have time to watch it and don't see time in my future. I'm looking for a simple answer is all. Either yes they are very different and worth seeing at both places. Or no, they are similar enough that you won't be missing much if you're on a time constraint. Sorry my OP wasn't more clear.

    Thanks.

I'm sorry I came across negative. I wasn't trying to be and I apologize. I have two disabled children and no time to watch a 32 min long video. So I was really looking for the short answer is all. I need to make reservations for the Fantasmic! dinner and want to do it ASAP if needed.

Re: Fantasmic! at WDW vs. DL

Ok to make it more clear:

The WDW version does not have a Peter Pan segment... in its place is a Pocahontas segment. And there is no Jungle Book segment with Kaa... instead there's a scene with Jafar from Aladdin turning into a snake like he does in the movie and chases after Mickey.

    Those are the biggest differences.

Both are worthy to see. They are different, with different segments. WDW has a nicer amphitheater to watch the show in. Disneyland is a bit more staged on the Rivers of America. But it is a great show and a great ending to the night at DHS.

And to add the my answer... If you have seen the DL version many times, I would not stay for the WDW version since they are very similar. I would instead end the night at Epcot to see Illuminations since it is a great show and not something you can see at DL. Wishes is also a great firework show. If you have seen both of those, I would then see Fantasmic at WDW.

Re: Fantasmic! at WDW vs. DL

The major differences: Disneyland vs WDW

-Intimate Tom Sawyer's Island vs Large boulder amphitheater that seats thousands

-22 minute show that is tight vs something closer to 30 minutes with some snoozy parts

-Peter Pan action on pirate ship vs Pocahontas sequence w/ people in canoes and on island

-Jungle Book Kaa drum cadence vs Mickey battling Jafar as Serpent

-Pink Elephants on Parade vs nonstop bubbles medley of various disney features (lion king, hercules, etc)

-Disney World adds many villains to the roster: Cruella DeVil, Hades, Frollo, Scar... making the finale a little bit annoying when all the villains do their battle cry.

-massive Mark Twain Steamboat vs tiny smaller (and probably more accurate) steamboat willie style steamer

So that's really the major differences. I think musically and visually, Disneyland's is a better show overall. But WDW puts on a good show as well. If you can go in and not think about disneyland at all... you'll enjoy it.

They are different but WDW is different in a bad way so I would not waste your time watching it.

Go see it. There are seats and it's after DHS closes. I prefer the DLand one much more but I do appreciate the differences and the seating.

So from what I'm reading here, I should try to see it but maybe not do the Fantasmic dining? Just wait in line if time allows? I appreciate the feedback. I won't have a lot of time while I'm there for the marathon and am trying to make sure I don't miss any of the "must dos."

That sounds like a good plan. It's worth seeing if you really like Fantasmic and you have the time, but don't go out of your way, and if you don't get a chance to see it, you won't be too upset about it. They both are good shows, but the DL one far surpasses the WDW one in my opinion.

Bottom line: See it if you have the time, but no worries about dinner package.
