    Florida AP/Resident Resort Discount

I know that in the past, I could book a room with the Florida Resident or Florida Resident AP discount on a room and not have to be staying in it. All I had to do was check them in with my ID and they could get the discount. I was told I could apply my discount to like 3-4 rooms at a time.

I'm going back with my family in a couple of weeks. My one brother has booked a room with his own non-FL AP with the discount. I happen to be staying in this room with them. My other brother booked a room at a neighboring resort. I tried to apply my FL resident discount or FL AP discount to his room and they said I couldn't do it. They said I had to be in the room (as an extra person) and if I did that, they couldn't purchase MYW tickets with their room.

Is this accurate? Is there anyway I can get my other brother a break on his room? We're traveling between Oct 10-20. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe with the new rules, that is accurate.

I don't know if you can buy the MYW tickets with the one room or not, I didn't think that was a problem (though maybe it has changed). The one room per AP has been in effect for at least a year now.

Why not be in the other room (on paper), move your brother without the AP into the one you are staying in (on paper). Then you can see about applying the AP rate. You'd have to do the checking in, but at least there is the discount.

I thought about doing the name swapping, but it ended up being a logistical nightmare for the brother without the pass. He's sorta a Disney newbie and would panic if I tried to do all that. So, I'll just let him pay full price. I tried.
