    Re: Happy 26th EPCOT Center!!

I remember attending EPCOT Center back in 1982, in days of yore - when the Astuter Computer Revue still reigned pathetic, Universe of Energy had the moving tile mosaic screen, and Journey Into Imagination was a freaking BLAST for a six-year-old to run around in. I remember the footprints leading up the path in World of Motion, and my grandfather not being able to figure out how to interact with SMRT-1. But most of all, I remember being TIRED at the end of the day. Here's to the Future - and the Future of the Past.

Okay, that last line was corny, but I stand by it.

Cool Re: Happy 26th EPCOT Center!!

More importantly, Horizons would have been 25 years old today. If only Disney let it live and prosper.

I remember being their the first year. I hated it . I was too young and thought everything was boring. Now I love it and it is my favorite park!

I was 12 on my first visit back in 1987 and it's been my favorite park ever since.

Happy Belated Birthday Epcot Center! Wish I gave it a better chance when I first visited in 1988 but I also didn't care for it when I was younger. But can appreciate it now unfortunately I never got the opporitunity to experience some of the original attractions.

Aimster... darn it. You keep posting these short videos from the past and turning this old ******* into a blobbering mess. What memories, and just watching that short up above brings it back like it was yesterday... and makes me realize how much of EPCOT Center we have lost so far... even the name, which I find sacrilegious. How wonderful to see the lovely acrylic fountain below Spaceship Earth (which used to light up in colors at night) and the nice welcoming garden without that horrible mausoleum out front. Or the original rubber head citizens of World Showcase, freshly brought back from their "America on Parade" retirement... or even a glipmse of the Kitchen Cabaret... I can't go on anymore...
    I am crying again...

Even through all the changes it has received, EPCOT remains the greatest park ever created. And the changes it will go through within the next few years will only enhance its status.

I'm with TDLFAN on this one! Although its still my favorite Florida park, its only 2/3 of what it was at one point in time...

The greatest park? You have not been to Tokyo DisneySea, have you? Makes EPCOT look like a dated World's Fair.. EPCOT is OK for what it is and a favorite of many at WDW for it's uniqueness but the 'greatest' park? No. It's a great park but not the greatest.
